My review is long overdue. I've been to Orkenoy many times since I live in the neighborhood. They always have a great food special like Wednesday oysters and fish fry's. I love their small bites. It's a great space to bring a hang with a friend or do a date night over some cocktails. Bartenders are always welcoming and knowledgeable about the beers on draft.

Only had the beers, did not try the food. It's a very clean space kind of like IKEA. So it's a little bit nicer venue but we came in running clothes as we just ran the 606. Everybody was very friendly and nice. Would like to return to try the food. We saw other people order, and it looked very good.

I was staying at an AirBnB nearby and was very excited to try this place after walking by a few times. We came on Sunday 11/19/23 shortly after opening. In summary, you should avoid this place for the reasons below, unless they are addressed by management. Overall the server was good - she was very friendly, attentive, and sort-of knew the menu. There was an issue with the online ordering system showing multiple items out of stock, including the potato pancakes. We asked the server if the online system was accurate and if the pancakes were indeed out of stock. She said they were out. Then we saw multiple other tables eating potato pancakes. So that was confusing. The online ordering system accessible only inside the restaurant is also totally different from their published PDF menu on their website. Vegan Cesar salad was average but the dressing slightly too sweet. The Caraway buns were rock solid and totally inedible. The leek/smoked fish quiche was inedibly salty. The burrito was average. The restaurant is very Instagram friendly. Concept is cool (never tried Scandinavian food). But with the menu issues and nearly half of the food inedible, overall it was a bust. Check out DayGlow (same owner) next door though for great coffee.

We came here while we were on the waitlist for dinner elsewhere. We enjoyed our drinks and potato pancakes. I credit the staff here SO MUCH because we had originally ordered something else, and after a while our waiter came up to us and explained that they were having issues with the food we ordered, and it was simply not up to par to serve. We loved the honesty and ordered something different. We also are from out of town and our phones were dying, they helped us out by letting us borrow a charger. Thanks so much!

It's a pretty cool cafe/ restaurant for all the artsy crowd in the area. We just had some. Beverages but I will be sure to come back here.

Last week on August 10th, I planned an outing with my husband and friend around the city. I knew I wanted to walk the 606 trail and hit a brewery along the way. I noticed that Orkenoy brewery would be a great place to stop and grab a beer while walking the 606 trail. Prior to and the day of, I double checked the time the brewery would open. According to google/website/Facebook-the brewery would open at 3:00pm. I planned the day so we would be at the brewery right when they opened. We got to the brewery little after 3:00.... We pulled the door and the door was locked. Looked inside and saw a man sitting at a table with a laptop and looked at us and continued his work. We were like, maybe we're just early.... Let's sit and wait. After a few minutes passed-that guy was still sitting and typing away at his laptop.... More minutes passed and two guys came and pulled the door handle. We told them that we've been sitting and that guy hasn't even budged. They called and someone (not the guy sitting) told them the place won't open til 5:00..... the two guys relayed this information back to us and that really made me disappointed. I checked google and Facebook and it mentioned the place was "open." If the brewery wasn't going to be open til later in the day-either update your Facebook page or leave a note or something on the door of the brewery regarding the hours of operation. Or tell whoever is sitting in the brewery and not budging from his laptop to come to the door and let us know the brewery won't open til later.... Just a courtesy...

Nice drinks very creative. Pleasant bartender/ waitress. Ribs could use a little more sauce.

Relative newcomer in technically Humboldt Park serves up eclectic food, beer, and cocktails at a reasonable price. Go!

Cool vibe in this city setting restaurant in Humboldt Park. Love the upscale menu, nice shareable options and drink menu. We had the kale salad and potato pancakes. Both were yummy

We dropped into Orkenoy after an afternoon walk on the 606. It's a fantastic spot to drop in for a drink or a snack after walking the trail. The space is very bright and welcoming. The layout and design are very calming and have a nice laid-back environment. We were welcomed shortly after walking in and the staff explained how everything worked. At your table, you order through their website and the food and drinks are brought to you. I appreciated their attentiveness in pointing out that gratuity is already included in the meal and that we did not have to tip beyond that if we did not want to. The food was delicious. The Fry Life was light and crispy. Surprisingly for its size, it was filling as well. The caraway buns were flavorful but dense. If you're looking for a quick bite along the 606, I highly recommend dropping into Orkenoy for a drink or snack. There's a great coffee shop next door too called Dayglow if you're looking for that afternoon pick me up!

In my quest to hit all breweries in the city proper, I was excited about this spot! I appreciate that they also have cocktails and not just beer for my broken (non beer drinking) wife. The interior is a cute space, with a fun sense of color without being too much. You walk through an overpriced and adorable general store en route to the bar space, which was fun to look at. Service was courteous, and they explained how things work when we arrived. My wife liked her drink, and while we did not eat, a few menu items sounded really good. I was not a fan of the 3 beers that I tasted. A bit esoteric for my tastes. It was hard to find a standard "type" of beer on the menu, and I stick with types I thought I liked but their unique take on those types didn't quite do it for me. I can tell it's all well made, but I don't think I (I drink anything but sours, usually) was the intended audience here. If you're an experimental drinker, I think you'd love it here. Overall, a nice spot to try out on a Sunday afternoon.

We came by on a weeknight and the place wasn't busy at all. We shared the caraway buns with lamb jou, which were great. I got the boar meatloaf and my friend got the fry life. We shared the carrot cake which was great. Overall the food was good, but the service platform is weird and confusing. You order online, and there's 20% gratuity already, but the platform made us both double tip on top of that which was annoying.

What a gem. Do yourself a favor and stop by Dayglow for some great coffee, go do some work there and stop by Orkenoy for lunch or dinner and some fun cocktails! Their service style is super easy to split and share food and you order everything using their toast tab app. Their apple custard was delicious. Loved their fall off the bone lamb.

Orkenoy is a great stop both during the day and at night for a bite to eat. This restaurant is located within the Kimball Arts Center in the Logan Square area.Once you sit down at a table, you scan the QR code on the table and then order the items you want to eat. The dishes are smaller and are meant to be sharable. I've come here both solo and with my husband. When I've come with my husband, we normally share 1 or 2 appetizers and then each get something separately that we want to ourselves. I think you should go with whatever ordering strategy your feeling while you are here. Some items on the menu change a bit, but I'll list some favorites that I've had- Any of the cocktails- Fry Life (delicious battered fish on sourdough bread)- Beet Pickled Eggs- Crab Beignet - Potato and Leek Croquettes
