To start!!! I never write reviews but I was really disappointed and felt likeI should share…I was really excited to eat here because of the options that they offered but was sadly disappointed as I paid $34 for two items. I got the gf and df Korean bowl and it was so so so greasy and they obviously used dehydrated mushrooms as they were still tough and not completely hydrated. The amounts of ingredients in the dish were not balanced enough; for me there was way tooo much spinach, like more spinach than noodles. I also got the squash pie and was soooo excited as it’s so rare to be able to order a dessert at a restaurant I can eat but something is just off with it. I don’t even know how to describe it just eh not great. I read over the past reviews and I wonder if they switched chefs or something because sadly the food was not great.

At one time I loved True Foods but the last few times I’ve dined there (not just the Chicago location) it’s like the food has no warmth to it any longer. As though it comes off the assembly line. My salmon came out fast, but over cooked which leads me to believe it’s not cooked to order but warmed up. That’s one example. In my opinion it has also become pricey. We don’t mind paying for excellent food but when it comes out like “meh” and the bill for two people is $75 without drinks, it is shocking. My partner had a curry bowl and added tofu. I had the Kale salad and added salmon. He order a scoop of ice cream.I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. In that area there are so many wonderful options. I’ve noticed that the establishment was lacking people at 7:00pm on a Friday night when at one time you couldn’t get a reservation.
