Small counter restaurant inside convenient store. Not sure why it has 4.7 rating. Rating should be closer to 4.0 or maybe 4.1. I think it has become too easy to purchase 5-star reviews online. Menu items seem to be made from cans (grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush). Falafel really heavy, not fresh, like from a pre-made tray. Not light and fluffy. The hummus was okay but heavy.

Wonderful neighborhood spot! I get lunch here a couple times a month. The food is always delicious, and the portion & variety in the specials is great. Everything ingredient is incredibly flavorful and fresh. Staff is also very nice. Highly recommend.

I popped into town yesterday and needed something quick for dinner. My brother recommended this place on our last visit and now I know why. The food was fantastic! It was the best chicken shawarma I’ve ever had. But that’s not all. The young men who run the store were so hospitable and friendly. They gave me a cup of lentil soup to eat while I waited for my order. Note that I did not ask about the soup. They just handed me a cup. Not a taste. A whole cup of soup. They said it was cold outside so I should have some. Yum. I ordered about 10 different items to try from the menu and was surprised by how inexpensive it was. I had ordered carry out. When they rang me up, they asked if I wanted a receipt. I said sure. It didn’t even have a tip line on it. Refreshing not to be burdened with that moral dilemma of whether or not to tip for carry out just because everyone is now “offering” the option. But in this case, I gladly would have. This place is a gem in more ways than one. To the gentlemen who assisted me- Thank you both for a delightful dinner and visit to your restaurant. I’ll be back next time…every time we visit Chicago.Parking: There was street parking and I didn’t have difficulty finding a spot at 6/7pm on a Thursday.

We catered food for a staff party and not only were the portions huge, the food DELICIOUS, but it was so affordable! Yaba made the experience so easy and even threw in a little pack of baklava as a gift for me. I cannot recommend enough. Please support this family owned and operated business! (The falafel is chefs kiss!)Vegetarian options: Complete vegetarian menu option for catering.

food was tasty! i got the lunch combo and it had literally everything you can imagine. salad, falafel, hummus, rice & meat. great deal for the price. the standing ovation goes to their customer service. i miscalculated my lunch break at work and the delivery time for my meal. gave them a call in a hungry frantic and the store clerk right away offered me options so that i was able to get my food at the right time. it felt personal, it felt cozy- i walked into a small convenience store but the clerk made me feel like i walked into his home. <3 will definitely be back!

We'd heard so many great reviews of this restaurant and really wanted to support this thriving local business, but unfortunately the food we were served was pretty bland and single note. We got lamb kofta and a chicken shawarma plate and both were like eating unseasoned grilled meat, as opposed to the flavorful rich onions and spices we would expect from those dishes. The rice was pretty tasteless as well.I'd be willing to give them a second shot on the chance it was a fluke, due to the rave reviews we've heard of this place, but we will see.

I had the chicken shawarma lunch special. I'm not a big fan of falafel but it was really good, the hummus was so soft and delicious. The chicken was flavorful and for the amount of food it was a great piece! Will be back

My kafta kebab sandwich is delicious, prepared to order, hot and hearty. Plenty of tahini and the bread is fresh. On a cold day, they offered me some free lentil soup while I waited and I couldn't have been happier as I was both hungry and cold. Kind and generous service, the essence of hospitality. I will return to try the spinach pie and other dishes. Thank you for your kindness. I hope you will prosper!
