“Their Reuben sandwich for St Patrick's Day was delicious! I had the medium and it had plenty of meat on it!Parking: There's a small strip mall attached & around the corner thankfully everything was closed so we parked there.Kid-friendliness: There were lots of kids there“
“This was my first time at Clancy's on 95th. It was clean and comfortable. The ladies behind the counter were delightful and easy going. A friend invited me to join her and a handful of her friends, to watch Billy Gray perform (he was fabulous with his deep voice. I listen to country music every once and awhile, but Billy had me moving my feet and tapping the table top to the music.)and we had a wonderful time. The beers were reasonably priced ($4 or $16 for a bucket of five. They give you wooden tokens to collect a cold beer when you are ready or the bucket if you prefer. My friend ordered a ham and cheese sandwich that was delicious and came with fries or in-house made potato chips. I would definitely go back.“
“The James Joyce is a local treasure. It’s the epitome of an Irish pub; friendly, good service, and a social gathering place. The owners have made it this way, and they will come by to meet you and welcome you. They have events like the upcoming “1/2 way to St Patrick’s Day”, and it’s absolutely worth coming by for a pint. Sláinte?“
“We stopped in since we were attending The Family Feud Night in their hall. The restaurant was packed and they found seating quickly for me and my husband. We both enjoyed the battered cod and I had breaded shrimp too. All the menu prices looked reasonably but then again we aren't alcohol drinkers at meal time so are billing is always reasonable. We live 1/2 mile away so we definitely will be back. The hostess was very accommodating and our waitress was prompt since we shared we will be attending The Family Feud event ~ in which made it a fun date night ?Now that event area had bar services and the kaluha and creams were delicious !!! ?“
“Best place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Great staff and just over all fun! Great music and no judgment of anybody come one come all. Punkys is the place to be!Kid-friendliness: During the day and up until 8 pm kid friendly! At night more of the adult or local college kids come out! All great and fun ppl“
“Went there for a first date last night and had an amazing time! If you're looking for a lively, fun spot, this is definitely the place to go. Make sure to see Amber behind the bar she's an absolute rockstar and helped make our night so enjoyable.“
“Really cool place. My kids and I enjoy any and everything paranormal, and when we heard about this place we decided to take a trip. The bartender was awesome, telling us some stories of her paranormal experiences, and gave us some history of the place. Then some patrons were at the bar and one came over and told us some more. Very nice people. Ordered the Calamari, Chicken Tacos, Legend burger, and Mushroom Swiss burger. All Amazing, my daughter who is the pickiest eater of them all loved the chicken tacos. Burgers were prepared perfectly and were absolutely amazing. Calamari was also very good, just wish the portion was bigger for the price (photo attached is after we started eating some). I’m not a big beer drinker but I ordered the Maplewood Krispie Cakes on tap, and I might come back just for the beer alone. All in all, amazing experience, wonderful service, and we will be back for the ghost tours around spooky season.“
“I’m glad that I listened to the reviews! Such a warm, friendly environment! Very attentive service. The place was packed and there were two servers but they were great with everything! Great Irish food, and a wonderful atmosphere! We were missing Ireland, so we came here & tried a little bit of the fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and cornbeef & cabbage bites. A great place to go! “
“When you hear the name Shanahan's, one would think that this is an Irish pub, but it's actually touted as a creole restaurant. I have been to this restaurant in Forest Park, Illinois many times, and have mixed feelings about it. Oftentimes, the food is delicious but there have been other times when I found certain dishes to be inconsistent; such as the Seafood gumbo (sometimes too salty but other times decent). On the other hand, the Shrimp & Grits, the Fried Calamari and the hurricane drinks are consistently delicious. Dress is casual and food prices are moderate and a good value for the amount of food served. The staff is friendly and attentive. The locals love this place (which sometimes causes a noisy atmosphere) so get there early to avoid the crowds, as well as to secure on-street parking.“
“I have been here now quite a few times. Tonight came on a date. Sat outside. We brought a dog. Loved that it's a dog friendly spot. They even provided a bowl for water for the dog. We first ordered the fried pickles. Delish. Then for our mains....I had a corned beef sandwich - which is what I always get at an Irish establishment. My favorite! I always order it a bit different and they absolutely accommodated me. My date ordered the chicken sandwich grilled with all the toppings with the sweet potato fries. He loved it. Very tasty. Service was excellent. Very friendly. Even the patrons were nice petting the dog. Each time I have come here has been a positive experience. Definitely recommend.“
“This place is amazing. First time there was just a couple days ago. I am going back again today. The food was amazing. I got the wings and the Rubens. The service was great and the bartenders are fun and talkative. Even gave me that old pub feel when she gave me some fun feistiness back to something I said. I like that. The Guinness was outstanding as well. I can not complain about anything here! They even had a band when I was there! I can’t believe this place isn’t packed all the time. The owners came around and introduced themselves and were extremely friendly. I will for sure be back more and will tell my friends. Keep up the good work guys!“
“Went there on a Saturday night to see Scarlet Mountain. Sean M was our server and he went above and beyond to make sure we could see the band while we ate. He was accommodating to let us leave the table and come back throughout the night. He was quick with our food and quicker with our drinks. The food was amazing… Shepherds Pie and Corned Beef Bites!! I asked to speak to the manager Louis as I wanted him to know what a great time we had. He came and talked to us and let us know about all the events especially St. Paddy’s day coming up. What a fantastic place!!“
“They have the best pizza around. I grew up eating Fox's in Beverly, Oak Lawn and Orland. The pricing has gotten a bit high for the Fox's special pizza. I understand inflation but the pricing has limited my ordering down to maybe a couple times a year now. The large pizza was also removed from the menu and you must purchase either a medium or XL.“
“I nearly missed reviewing this place... back in April I had just arrived from a horribly long overseas flight. My friends were kind enough to take me to this pub for some dinner and we were pleased at our food and dining experience. When you walk in you are met with traditional Irish decor, and a lovely fireplace in the dining area. Very welcoming and clean. I liked it immediately. Heather H. waited on us and was very friendly and helpful with making some dinner suggestions. It is a very cute interior and warm environment. My friends got Guiness of course and I was pleased to see they had a surprisingly good selection of white wine, so I opted for a glass of the Joel Gott sauvignon blanc ($9.25). I was starving and got the Wild Alaskan blackened salmon ($19.95) MM MMM with a side Salad and OH YES house made blue cheese dressing to die for. Very generous portion of fish, perfectly cooked. My friends shared a basket of crinkle cut fries ($5), curry sauce ($3.50) and Irish sausage ($6), plus Southwest Chicken Egg Rolls ($7.95). The food and drinks are very reasonably priced, and the food is really good. The dinner menu has a very impressive selection, a little bit of everything.“
