I loved Halal Guys when I first tried it in Chicago. I was excited to see there was a nearby location in Countryside. Ample parking. The only thing that sucks is trying to get out with all of the frequent flow of traffic. They could use another stoplight over here. Service was very friendly and helpful. I had the combo with beef gyros and chicken. Meat was warm, not hot. Both kinds of meat had flavor, they just needed to be fresh. The pita slices were also lukewarm. Rice was okay. Decent food but could be a lot better.

I have been going to this place since they opened in chicago downtown first location. How can I forget NYC style Number 1 street food of The Halal Guys with their great service and freshness? But I am going to miss only original location from NYC afterwards few bad experiences with their franchise own location in Countryside, ILLINOIS. My visitlast Sunday on 17th March’2024 around 4:43PM very disappointed about their service and food quality as they don’t have loyal employees to serve and take orders. Employee wanted to pass me their wrong already prepare order as I even didn’t order that menu item, so you pay what they cook bad for you..Unprofessional, lack of communication skill and poor food preparation skill proves their closure soon as many service businesses surviving currently in bad time. Owner should take step forward or plan for permanently closure.

The food was not fresh except the lettuce. You can tell it's reheated food from yesterday. The rice didn't have that fresh, hot, steamyness to it. The gyro was definitely not fresh cut from the pit. I wasted a good 20min driving here. The chicken is flavorless just like their rice. The white sauce makes it good but the quality of this place is in the toilet. I think some of the locations are really struggling so they are using old food instead of making it fresh. I will never come back here. Compared to Pita Inn's flavor this place should get negative stars. Absolutely wasted $15 on this place for the platter. Half the platter was lettuce. I know inflation is high and they are trying to get by so I can't blame them 100% for that.

Edit September 2022. I drive 30 minutes and pass so many restaurants to be at my happy place!Always great food even better service!!! The staff is super friendly all the time!March 2024. Halal guys has the most consistent great service I've received from ANY establishment I've been a long time customer of! The food is always AWESOME and the employees are always a pleasure to interact with.

If this location is indicative of the entire chain, I'm not impressed. Gyro meat was already in a warming pan, not shaved directly from the cone. Your neighborhood Mom & Pop gyro place is probably better.

Great gyro sandwiches and platters!The locations is accesible from both sides of the street, but it will be much easier from the north bound.Plenty of parking on the side and in the back.Most people choose the drive through, which is recommended, but there is plenty of seating for dine in.The staff is quick and friendly. Their dishes are pretty standard for a Gyro place, and their tzatziki sauce and hot spice are pretty good. The hot sauce may be considered close to hot than medium levels (be careful). That being said I love the kick on that hot sauce.Price is competitive and would recommend.Vegetarian options: You can substitute meat for falafel or no meat. Rice and veggies taste pretty fresh. You’ll enjoy it.Parking: No immediate street parking, but could find near by side streets, but parking has never been an issue for me.Kid-friendliness: Great friendly atmosphere and confortable seating. The fries are made to order and almost every kid could enjoy the rice and gyro/chicken meat.

Guys you need to open in gurnee
