I stopped in for the first time the other day, looking to buy special bread for Day of the Dead, that I'd heard about after learning more about the holiday. I read that it can be offered on the ofrenda and also can be eaten. They sold about four or five different versions, some featured colored sugar, sesame seeds and cinnamon. I purchased the one with red sugar. It was beautifully baked and very inexpensive. (It had a nice light flavor, and I enjoyed it with hot chocolate at home.) The person at the counter greeted me warmly and was very friendly. They had so many nice looking breads and pastries, I would definitely like to come back and try others. I hope people will support this great local business!

My first impression of this business was the very kind and accommodating people working there. My lasting impression was the exceptional key-lime pie I special ordered for my mother's 88th birthday. My mom has had key-lime pie for 88 years and she ranked this one as one of the best. Her words: "....To die for". The graham cracker crust would have been a wonderful dessert all on its own, but then the key-lime filling was perfectly tart. It was a huge hit!! I highly recommend Ana's Cakes and Bakery and will definitely trust them for more important events in our lives. Their pie helped make my family's celebration special.

I love they're 3 leches cakes since I moved to Illinois in 2017. I moved out from California and was searching for a mexican bakery this one poped out so I decided to give it a try. It was a 30 min drive from where I lived before but oh boy it was love at first try. Cakes are so rich and tasty, sweetness to perfection not over sweet it melts in your mouth. I live in Rockford and I still drive out to Crystal lake to get my cakes no disappointment at all. (FYI If anyone would like to give them a try they don't take orders through phone since some customers were laking in picking up. Need to order in person.)
I discovered this place for a recommendation on Next Door App and I am not disappointed. If you are looking for a 3 Milk Pastry or Special Design Cake with soft, fresh and delicious this is the place you must go. It is a small store in Crystal Lake but the quality of the products they sell are good with reasonable prices.
