The food is always delicious here. My favorite item on the menu is the lemon shake. You must try it out it's refreshing all year long. They also have breaded tenderloins and they are delicious too. Or if you must get the chili and fries...... Either way I don't think you will be disappointed.

My wife and I were on a road trip today and passed through Decatur. We stopped at Krekel's for lunch. I have heard that the store in Decatur is the original. The food was just as good as the food at the stores in Springfield and Pawnee. The young lady who took our order was very chipper and friendly.

I don't understand why everyone thinks the burgers are the best here. They are super thin, somewhat crispy and almost sausage instead of hamburger meat. Nothing special about the bun or anything. Go to the Lincoln Lounge for the best burgers! And I have NO affiliation with them at All. I've only lived here a year. Thick and juicy, soft bun with toasted inside, fresh veggies, choice of cheeses and oh so tasty! Could use better fries tho. Krekels has pretty good ice cream!

Love, love, love!! My bank card had been hacked prior to us stopping so it declined and one of the employees (The manager maybe?!) Paid for our food!! This was my first time there ever and it was AMAZING!!! Food was perfect
