They have "DAY OLD PASTRIES" located on the front of the store. I made a comment about them keeping pasties for over a few days and mentioned it to the worker Marta, she right away started shouting at me and put them in the back. She talked to the other clients about me to them which is very unprofessional for a worker and refused to help me. When I walked in to buy the pastries again a different day and Marta and Daniela threatened me with the police and refused to take care of me because I made the comment about the pastries being over a few days old the other time. I did not do anything wrong and because I made a comment about them keeping pastries for more than a few days I get threatened with the police as well as my husband who did not even do or say anything to them. Just last week I reached out to the owners about their behavior but after talking to one of them just last week about this situation he said that they can keep the pasties for up to 7 days however the store says a day which is hypocrisy and very unprofessional for them and mentioned he didn't want to correct any of their workers behavior towards their customers which again is very unprofessional of them. On another note, any other store you go to and get day old pastries they mention when they put them out and you can always tell they're not sitting there for days. For someone that has been going there for that many years and to be treated like that, I definitely wont be returning.

OMG, this place is Chicago's bakery for a reason. They did our wedding cakes (why get one when you can two at twice the price, lol...) and we also got this DELICIOUS "Cherry Yogurt Gateau" for a recent birthday. Gosh, this place kicks those cheap grocery store sheet cakes to the curb with all the flavor and quality!Thanks again, Oak Mill: your cakes rule!!! :D

Oak mill has been my husband’s family tradition since the 90s and him and I have been visiting all the way from Grayslake since 2012. After getting an email back from them today and waiting for the response for over 2 weeks after the incident and calling and waiting and they almost never pick up their phone, we decided to not carry on the family tradition with our kids. We tried looking past the awful service, to them making a NASTY cake that the family could not eat,spat out and having to throw in the trash, after waiting and playing their game to just get a response back to get a refund or credit for next time. I was even told I would be refunded 2 weeks ago that never happened...(so I was lied to over the phone) so I had to call back to ask where my refund is. Nobody knew anything and never got a call back. After playing back and forth then adding insult to injury to saying they cannot offer anything of the sort and said to “try a different cake next time your family will like instead”.... what? Devils food cake with Nutella mouse? What European family(kids) won’t eat chocolate and Nutella? We pray for your bakeries struggles and Godspeed. .

I ordered a Poznansky cake for Thanksgiving. I have been eating this cake for many years. I am extremely disappointed that the dough of this cake was changed to a dry and almost tasteless cake. Thank goodness the cream was still the same. I will not buy this cake again until it returns to the previous recipe.
