I grew up in the neighborhood where true and LIVING Home of the Hoagy reigns supreme and THIS ain’t it! My steak sandwich looks like it’s on a hotdog bun… and the fries were dry. The pictures here look nothing like what I received. My nephew ordered several sandwiches for us as he came in from out of town and said there’s a location in the burbs. We all tried it for the first time and will not be back. Bummer!

Daughter and I were visiting Illinois and craved Italian beef. This place didn't disappoint us. We also tried Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Turkey Hoagie. What can I say we were on a road trip ?Try and I believe you will enjoy their customer service and food.I will return during our next trip to Illinois.Parking: The Hoagie Place is sandwiched with other businesses and they all share the same parking lot which makes for difficult parking .

Since I wasn't able to post a review under The Hoagie Place #3, I'll post it here. I went to their 3rd location at 1313 E. 87th St. on 1/5/24. The Hoagie was just okay and not as good as the one on Halsted.The large Steak Sandwich was mostly bread and very little steak & sweet sauce. Me & My Sister was very disappointed. Whoever is making the sandwiches at their new location need to be trained at 8147 S. Halsted so the Guy can learned how to make sandwiches because that wasn't it..

They don’t deserve the one star I gave. I went in to pick up a paid in advance order, and I received terrible customer service. I will NEVER go to this place again. The lady behind the counter didn’t even bother to check the paid receipts, she told me in a rude manner that I need a physical receipt. The order was already paid for, I was simply picking up an order for someone. I hate bad customer service, especially when food is being served.
This place is horrible.. please do not eat here or patronize this business..they lack customer service and professionalism.. outright rude!!! Ridiculous!!

I like going here. I've gone to another one and you can wait over an hour or more for your food and the service is awful. But here the service is quick and the food is consistent always good. The prices are good. The only complaint I would have is parking since a bar opened up next door and trying to find a parking space is almost impossible. The bar also blocks off spaces with cones. Now I try to go before that bar gets crowded. So if you go in the late evening just be prepared to find a place to wait or park further down the street.

Don’t come when they first open. It’s a hit or miss if they’ll open on time. Come 30 mins after opening time, the door may be unlocked by then…. Other than that love them!
