Met a friend in Downtown Downers Grove and happened upon this family owned Mexican restaurant that was open on a Sunday. I tried a steak taco at the suggestion of the person taking my order. It was very tasty. The carnitas one was good too. The atmosphere in the dining room is pleasant and cozy. The woman working that day brought us some warm chips and salsa to enjoy with our meal. The restaurant business can be tough so it is good to see a family owned place providing good food, service and a change of pace from the typical chain experience. These are the kind of little gem places that I appreciate having in downtown Downers Grove. I suggest that they are worth checking out!

everytime we have visited Alfredos Taqueria we have been greeted with a smile and a warm hello. The service, the food and atmosphere have been awesome. If you haven't had a chance to stop in and have some of this great food you are missing out. Try it you will not be disappointed!

This is kind of Americanized Mexican food in my opinion. The food is pretty good, I got the enchiladas with green sauce, but I wouldn't be surprised if the green sauce came from a bottle. It tasted good, but I wanted something more authentic. We also got the chips and guacamole and the guacamole was pretty flavorless. Food came out and the staff are very friendly. Small Dining area, but clean and cute. It's pretty good, but definitely better Mexican places out there if you like authentic food.

Stay away! Rip-off artists! Ordered food online, went to pick it up and restaurant was dark and locked, even though during hours supposed to be open. Left voicemail, no return call. Did charge back on credit card, they lied and said food was picked up. Never contacted me at all. many other Mexican restaurants in the area, don't get cheated by this one. OK Stay away! Carne asada (cheap gristly taco meat) was extremely dry and no flavor, meat tasted like it has been sitting on the flattop for a few days getting reheated.

My girlfriend and I love the food. Alfredo is a great business owner and interacts with his customers. The location is very quaint and fun to be in. Most importantly, they have orange Fanta, so my son says FIVE stars.

Came across this place while waiting for our son in Driver's Ed. Family owned, amazing food! The son recommended the Mexican Steak and it was delicious! He said it was his Grandma's recipe. Tender and delicious! Huge portion. 2 meals for me. I usually have the carne asada when we have Mexican food, this is ten times better! Mom was in the kitchen. Guacamole was delicious too.

Ordered for delivery on Uber eats. Then they price adjusted it for $5 more. When I called he said it’s because their prices went up and they hadn’t changed them on Uber eats. If they don’t have accurate prices they shouldn’t use this delivery service until they get it updated. Not customers fault. Bad way to do business.Totally get prices are going up bc of increased costs. But prices should be advertised.
