I think sadly, they have closed. We loved it there and Ive gone back a few times since restaurants opened, but no luck- I looked in the window yesterday and its closed for good I think. :(

It's a real shame they have to close. My family and extended family have been going here for over 6 years and it's always been a great experience. So many memories, great food and great service. I hope they reopen.

Yes the decor is geared toward kids but the food is very good. My family was getting take out once a week until covid -19 shut them down. The owners are great people and I hope they can reopen soon.

I've been here twice now with my nieces and now my own child. They really have figured out the bar-style seating with kids- it's very clever to me. The bar stools pop off if they need to replace it with a high chair or a chair with a back to it. My nieces both LOVE this place (my baby is too young to know the difference). It's like a mini carnival to them. The salads here are shockingly not bad (smart on their behalf, also). Also... To have Kraft Mac n cheese, my nieces favorite, on the menu.... Well played.

Great food, very reasonable prices. My 4 years old had so much fun.

Closed! This place was great for kids that like trains. The food was just OK, but fun for the kids regardless of the food.

Fun for the family and great food. Owners use to own the Royal Shield down on Cass and 75th. They are tremendous! Enjoy the atmosphere and my kids have always enjoyed being served by a train.

I'm very conflicted writing this review. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars...but the staff and prices ruined it. Let me explain, 5 stars would have come from my nostalgia from going to a similar place when I was younger, the excitement of my kids seeing the model train at the entrance and the one running overhead as well as getting to sit at a counter and have a train bring them their food. And the food wasn't bad for what it is...diner food. We had no issues with the food. So why the drop in stars? We were seated at the end of the counter in an area where the staff kind of hang out. All of the servers seemed to be college age and when they were talking all they could do was complain about things. I heard them complain about it being busy, I heard them complain and make fun of the kitchen/dishwashing staff and on and on. It really put a damper on the experience. Also all of the complaining was in ear shot of my kids and they were using words that I'm trying to teach my kids are not kind words(no cursing, just mean spirited like calling people stupid). Another negative mark was that they advertise being an allergy conscious environment and on the menu they list an allergy safe cupcake. We were really excited about that. My son almost never gets a dessert in a restaurant and he was so excited to be able to order his own cupcake but guess what they don't offer them anymore. The waitress was apologetic about it and explained that the company they order them from stopping making them, fair enough but then take it off the menu. The waitress says though that they carry cookies that are allergy safe so we order them only for them to come back and tell us they are out of them. Well now we have two disappointed children, we can't let one get dessert and not the other. After the dessert fiasco, I ask for the check. I was pretty surprised when it came. I couldn't believe how expensive it was (I'm just talking food, not drinks). It's diner food, nothing special and again it was good just over priced in my opinion for what it is. You see, I'm not the type of customer that complains, I'm the type that won't come back after a bad experience.
