The food at Mel's is awesome. Good home cooking like your Mamas. The goulash is to die for. Friendly wait staff. Prices you can't beat. And their soda glasses are huge!!!!

Mel's is the epitome of a small town diner. We come often for breakfast. Most of the menu items are under $10,but portions are large and cooked just the way you want. The wait staff treats you like family. Try a skillet breakfast- the half order is more than I can finish.

Review Date: January 26th, 2014Having lived near this place for a year or so, I convinced my friend to go with me since we both lived in the area and neither of us had ever been there.Everyone that I have talked to raved about the place. So I came in with high hopes and high expectations. Were they met? Not exactly. The menu had plenty to choose from. The waitress was nice enough. But the food was meh, as were the portions.Now I will say that I was not in the best of moods when I went. I was grumpy for some reason. I am going to pin it on the winter cold. Any who, I don’t think that it had much affect on my overall Rating or view of the place. My friend and I were both on the same page on how much we were indifferent on the place.But as with all places I don’t give a glowing review for… don’t take my word alone. Check online reviews. Go there yourself. Try someplace new. Support a local business. Form your own opinions. ?

My son and I live nearby. I have pneumonia so we decided to get the order to go. We will not be returning after this morning. Not one part of our order was right. I paid 21 dollars for 2 orders of biscuits and gravy instead of what I ordered. Always went for dinner and it's been good. The waitresses rock. Just don't call or go in on the weekends. Waitresses are not very good at their jobs at all. We frequented the place until now. It's sad but true. Do not expect a good experience from mels on the weekend. They got the stars for the service AR nite

Ordered b&g for carryout. They had it ready on time but when i got home and opened it, gravy spilled over the aides. They were in the box upside down and it was bland, nothing special. Oh and rhey overcharged me almost ten dollars which didn't reflect on the receipt. They reimbursed.
