In a world where meaning is as fleeting as the foam on a wave, there lies a place where even that transient foam seems to crystallize into something almost tangible. La Fonda Restaurant, a speck on the vast, indifferent canvas of the universe, manages to capture a moment of culinary delight that borders on the absurd for its sheer audacity to exist and please. The Seafood Molcajete, a chaotic amalgam of marine life, succumbs to a harmony so profound that it mocks the very notion of discord. Each ingredient, seemingly insignificant on its own, unites in a symphony of flavors that challenges the palate's comprehension of pleasure. The Mexican guacamole, a simple concoction of crushed avocados and spices, transcends its humble origins. It stands as a testament to the beauty that can emerge from the most basic of elements, offering a fleeting reprieve from the inexorable march of time and the entropy it heralds. In the grand scheme, perhaps nothing matters. But within the walls of La Fonda, for a fleeting moment, the absurdity of seeking meaning in the void is forgotten, drowned in the depths of a molcajete and the simplicity of guacamole. Here, at least, there is flavor. And perhaps, in the end, that is enough.

La Fonda is the best Mexican in Edwardsville. We were seated outside the kitchen. Normally not happy about that however it gave me an opportunity to see how clean the kitchen was even on a busy Saturday night. The place was packed people running in and out of the kitchen still it looked tidy and clean. Love Lafonda !

This wasn't the same restaurant that we used to frequent when we lived here 5 years ago. The best food item was the chips and salsa. Our server didn't want to be at work that night. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for our meal. Wife's was cold. Mine was lukewarm.

I’ll never come back here the fat guy didn’t want to exchange out a dish when I said I was willing to pay for the dish I didn’t like

Food is always good, quick service, and honestly the best Mexican cuisine in the area (Collinsville, Edwardsville, Maryville, Troy, Glen Carbon, etc.).

Possibly The best Mexican cuisine I've ever tasted. Finally a place that doesn't water down their culture because it brings people's tongues.

This place is average at best. The food isn't anything special, but also not terrible. The service however was not good. It was a Monday night, not very busy. Our server came over twice - once to take our order and once to bring us our drinks. We had to flag someone down for the check. I wish the service was better, especially since it wasn't busy.

The food was delicious. They kind of leave you alone and don't bother you like a lot of places. Which was nice.

Absolutely terrible. Terrible microwaved food and terrible service especially including the manager. First of all my mother loved this restaurant up until now. The staff here completely ruined my mom's birthday and actually laughed in her face when asked why simple nachos take an hour and 15 minutes to cook. When we explained our issue with the service we had an employee laugh at us while the manager stood by. They took absolutely zero accountability and said it was our fault for sitting and waiting over an hour for the worst make believe Mexican food I've ever had. If I could leave zero stars I would. What type of people laugh at a customer for asking a simple question? I'd highly recommend Taco Bell or Jack In The Box for better quality because this food here is absolute trash.
