I was the only one in the place at the time of pickup and had to have been one of the few orders of the night based on how delighted lady behind the counter was to see me. She thanked me several times for ordering from her. I could tell she cooked my order fresh!Cashew chicken and potstickers are excellent! It’s a little pricey for the amount of food I received. $25 total when listed at $11 and $5 online, unless prices have changed.

Authentic Thai food deliciously prepared. The owner was very helpful in making suggestions and selecting the spiciness of our meal. Had crab dumplings as appetizer and my husband and I shared the drunken noodles and ginger chicken on rice. All was perfectly seasoned with lots of fresh vegetables. Highly recommend!

We came for pho, and it was very good. The owner was very friendly, and took good care of us. English is not her first language, but she understands it very well.

I used to love this place. The prices are very high and we ran into a very disappointing meal here. They attempted to take care of the issue but not to my satisfaction. I don’t want to go to deeply into the issue but they could use more visits from pest control and a health inspector.

Dangggg this was tasty. Had the Jungle Curry. A little different curry in that the broth was not as thick as I normally have from other restaurants, neither a good or bad thing but just different. It was really tasty though and if you're passing through or live in the area I would highly recommend this place. Really a pleasant place and it's byob too.

I’m so glad that the owner came back to Effingham! The food is delicious, there’s something for every diet, there’s a dried pepper basket at each table, and the proprietor is sharp as a tack. She knows just when to appear, she’s never over bearing, she’s quick with a joke, and her honesty is refreshing. The decor could use an update, but it’s pleasant. Just stuffy.Vegetarian options: There is an extensive vegetarian menu, and also she will point out offerings that can be ordered vegetarian.

Authentic Thai home cooking by someone who knows how to make the food from Bangkok. With the low volume of small town dining scene for this type of food, some ingredients have to start frozen like sliced meats, seafood, broth or stew sauces. When she cooks, she has to defrost those individual serving of meats and dehydrate ingredients like noodles and mushrooms with the microwave so she can quickly to begin cooking with the fresh ingredients like vegetables, spices, and herbs in her wok or pots. The result is good fresh food prepared safely. So I think the reviews assumed incorrectly that the kitchen reheats old food for service.

Trigger warning: vermin in food. Two stars for service, because I know this is a nice older lady running the place. Having said that, this was my first visit to this restaurant, and I was forced to leave in disgust. There were a lot of red flags from the beginning: dirty silverware, a rundown and shoddy look about the place, clutter, but I’ll look past a few shortcomings for a good Pad Thai.We waited for about 30 minutes in the empty restaurant for our two dishes (post-lunch rush). In that time, we could hear incessant sneezing coming from the kitchen. This did make me feel uneasy, since there was only one person doing everything in the restaurant (presumably the elderly owner), and things were starting to feel very unsanitary. So, my Pad Thai comes out, and it looked pretty good, but then my partner and I both noticed a maggot squirming in the peanuts on top (I did not yet start eating yet, thankfully). We sent it back, and promptly left. She was upset and said she would make me a new order, but there was no coming back from this. Do not pass go; do not collect my $30. Effingham Health Department was contacted about the incident on 10/10/2023.Also, there was no lock on the single-user bathroom door.

My wife and I were driving home from a day trip when we decided to look up some food. We went with Thai over a Japanese restaurant and that would be my first mistake. It was a Sunday evening and it was empty. We were given water bottles which I assumed we would be charged for being it's a bottle so no big deal. Now the prices were a bit high but nothing to crazy. I ordered the large Tom Ka soup and my wife the Pad Thai with egg rolls. My soup came out first and about 5-10 min later my wife's. That when we knew the lady was hostess server and chef, which isn't ideal in my opinion. The soup was not Tom Ka and I've have plenty of it in my life, it was over sweet and way to fishy. Now my wife's pad Thai was very bland with little flavor. Around the third bite she said something tasted very off and she was afraid if she ate any more it would make her sick. The egg rolls were definitely frozen but my wife said the first one tasted good, the second one though something was off, not sure how that can happen, but needless to say we stopped eating right there and went to pay and leave. The bill was over priced from the menu price. I will never come here again! I have no idea how they have 4.5 stars review other than they used to be good. I do not recommend eating here!

The lady who owns and cooks is very sweet, but the food was horrible. Very oily, not a good flavor and I truly worried it would make us sick (thankfully, though, it didn't). Cannot recommend it. FWIW, we are Thai food fans, so it is not that we are ignorant of how it can taste.
