This place has been a staple in my life since they’ve gotten to this location. The food is amazing and the staff??? AMAZING. As a server it is so refreshing to have such good service being given. Been coming here for years and I’ve never had a bad experience with anything here. LOVE LOVE

I've been coming here at least once a month since my initial review two years ago. The food is always great. I like to order different types of meals when I come here. The service is excellent and friendly as always. We come on Sundays after mass so there is a bit of wait but I never had an issue waiting. The piano music is great. Everything is great just one tiny thing from our last visit was the orange juice was very sour. The Caramel Frappuccino was very tasty!Parking: Sundays will definitely be busy. Saturdays are busy as well. So, it'll be difficult to find parking.

I ordered chicken fried steak this morning. It was awful . The first one was overcooked and burned. They did it again and it was not what chicken fried steak should look like. It was but not battered right, not golden brown. Not very good. Don’t get that one.

I feel this is a racist establishment. We were a table of 4. The hostess was originally going to sit us at a table we asked for a booth kindly and she obliged and put us at a nearby booth. After ordering our drinks and about to order food. The waitress tells us that they have there regulars coming that is a party of 10 that always sits in the area we are in and she is going to put us back at that original table. We did make a comment asking if we will receive free drinks for having to move and she answered in the same tone "well that was where you guys were supposed to sit" we were 3 Latinos and 1 black women. And we were moved for a table of 8 white old people and received no compensation. ?

Wow! Just got back from Alexander's Café and loved it! Atmosphere (piano playing) spacious, tables not too close together, great food, ample portions, selections and very tasty. Our waiter, Mike, was excellent, great personality, always there for whatever we needed, was wonderful! First time here but definitely not the last time, we will come again. We were impressed with the menu, portion size, staff and great atmosphere!!!!

Always busy but the wait is never too long. Enjoy the piano while you wait and bask in all the good smells from the kitchen :)We recently moved to the area and Lauralee has been our server twice and she is amazing. Her service is second to none. The manager was going to all the tables checkin on everyone and she genuinely cared about any and all feedback. She gave us good vibes and that she truly enjoyed working there, which always makes me happy to see. Even her staff seems to love working there. One server said he worked at the other location and this one is much better and I could tell he meant it.The food was amazing. The fresh squeezed OJ, bacon, sausage, and omg those pancakes with the cinnamon butter are nothing short of perfection. I would be interested to try a lunch option here one day but the breakfast is too good. I'm not a big egg person but they have great options if you are. Recently, we tried the biscuits and gravy and that had a good balance of flavor. The hash browns are golden, brown, and delicious as they should be also they are salted perfectly. I hate it when places don't do a little salt and pepper seasoning. It's a must! However, don't you dare skip on those roasted potatoes because they pack some flavor. It's exactly how you want them.This will be our regular spot and we will ask for Lauralee every time because she is such a sweetheart and a damn good server!
Alexander’s cafe is my number one breakfast spot in Elgin, I’ve been coming here every weekend for the past 2 years(which should tell you all you need to know) The staff and food are phenomenal and I’ve never tried something I did not like! 10/10 recommend the breakfast tacos or the biscuit love! And their caramel lattes are out of this world!
