I am new to the Elgin area, I found Las Islas Marias and decided to place a pick up order a couple of weeks ago. This place is 5 minutes from home. After the greeting, the girl who answered told me that they closed at 8 PM sharp. It was 7:22 PM when I called. I decided to come back yesterday because we've all had a bad day and I thought that was the case the first time. I don't think I'll come back.

They charge you a 18% fee just for picking up food and not dining in. Portions are smaller than they used to be. Molcajete Ranchero is $30 and it's 1 small piece of steak, chicken and sausage

Terrible service. They have no way to serve customers. The worst thing is that they charge you a forced tip when they don't deserve it. Of course, since they know that their tip is safe, they no longer make an effort to be friendly. Be careful Owners, because this way your business can fail.

We went to eat with my family, the waitress who served us was in a bad mood, the broth I ordered was very salty and I told them, they told me that they were going to change it for me and that the owner was going to prepare it for me and make sure it was good , but it wasn't like that because the broth he brought me afterwards tasted like pure water. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EAT IN ELGIN…..

Tremendous abuse ? charge 20% $18 dollars of tip already included in the ticket for only 2 people, I knew that it was included only when there are 5 people or more that already include the tip but already in 2 people it is abuse, that is optional they must to check the owners carefully about this because if not they will be left without people

Totally very bad service..I didn't even eat. The treatment when I entered was terrible..Put on a smile. When you leave work, you're going to eat. The least you want is to see bad faces.. Even though you're going to be turned off by the food, you don't know. They give it away...

The food is terrible, they charge you a lot and the food is very little. I ordered a tray that would serve 4 people and it's only for 2 for 70 dls and they put red onion and cucumber in it. It's what they bring the most before the owner died. It was worth the money. Too bad now I don't recommend anything and they only give you a small package of toast, they give less and less and they want to earn more ?????

Wow! This place sucks now. Not sure what happened. They were okay before. ceviche was old and salty. The vuelve a la vida has so much imitation crab, only one slice of Avocado. $100 for 3 people, no alcohol. Ridiculous. I wouldn't come back and don't recommend AT
