I had always found very good bread, cookies and empanadas in this place, until they changed owners, baker, management... now I bought the stale bread and it doesn't taste as good as before. The price, I would be willing to pay if the bread had better quality, but more than 16 dollars for 8 hard and tasteless breads! I will not buy from this bakery again.

We use to love buying our bread from this bakery, they had the best conchas! but the quality has gone down after change in ownership. Stoped by to buy bread today and realized it was rock hard when we got home! Can’t believe they would actually try to sell bread this old! Sad part is that We live too far to go return it. The Cashier was also pretty rude. Definitely not worth the drive for us anymore.

I had being going to this bakery for years but now it's terrible. Since the change in ownership the quality has gone down significantly... the cashier with the pink costume on was incredibly rude.. the ONE piece of bread that was good I tried to compliment her on and it was like talking to myself. No kind of acknowledgment. I had stopped going for a few months hoping it would improve but it didn't, its only gotten worse. Prices are crazy for the quality. I've gone to just buying my bread from Armando's. At this point they couldn't pay me to eat their bread.

Couldnt agree with the last reviewer more. The new owner has led to old bread.Always 1or 2 day old. I drive a few more miles to Azteca bakery. The restaurant in this place has closed so maybe this bakery is next.

I don’t know if they changed owners or recipe but their prices have gotten really high and the quality has plummeted,all the bread I got was hard and we got it from different cabinets. It was very disappointing,I don’t mind spending more but when I got home I couldn’t believe how hard all the bread was must have been from a day old or something,I tried their tamales which are also not cheap and there’s only a slider of meat. I thought maybe it was the one I got but when I opened the rest of the tamales either red or green only a little meat and we got 6-green and 6-red,we have gone twice this year and same thing but prior to 2023 the bread was cheaper and wayyyyyy more soft. Unfortunately I would not be coming here again it used to be way better ?

My conchas are stale and flat. Been enjoying Pastigel since I was a baby, but I don’t know if I’ll go back now.
Was there today got 9 pieces of bread regular nothing special for $20 dollars. Concha’s are half the size as before. I miss the old pastigel.

The bakery itself is okay but this is the second time this week I go at 8:30 am and doors aren't open. It makes no sense that it's posted everywhere 8:00 am open hours but the place is pitch black

First time ..as soon as i walk it felt a good vibe clean and a good variety of fresh bread .. i had a bite as soon as i walk out of the store and was not desapointed taste was amazingly good!

Haven't been here in awhile. Since we were going to be near Elgin, we wanted to make sure to pick up the elephant ears. We picked out 4 small ones. Seemed higher priced as they were $6, but didn't ask any questions as the music was playing loudly. What is upsetting is that the pastries were extremely hard. Must have been made a few days ago. Guess some things have changed...certainly won't be going back!!
