Myself and my family of five came in after 10pm and were greeted with we had to use the kiosk to place our order which was cool because I'd never used one before and wanted to experience this tech. It was a very easy thing to do and because we were essentially the only people in there at that moment the service was very quick. The food was actually better than I expected. It definitely is a different burger than it's competitors.

My whole life, I thought Steak 'n Shake was somewhere in the realm of Checkers or Sonic...just a regional fast food place. But then, I happily learned it's much more homemade than that.We ordered Uber Eats and I couldn't have the fries or the special sauce for allergy reasons, but I thoroughly enjoyed the burger nonetheless.I'm still partial to the juicy burger and hand-cut fries of Five Guys, but I wouldn't turn down another burger at Steak n Shake. Thumbs up.

Just not what it use to be. In the before times you could go to stake n shake at what ungodly hour you wanted. They had condiments on the table and a staff that would take your order along with metal spoons. They don't even play music anymore.

Wow! Since the Randhurst location closed, it's been years since we've had Steak 'n Shake. My mother in law wanted to go so we took her to the Elk Grove location. We were super impressed! The restaurant was sparkling clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the kitchen was well organized and efficient and the food EXCEEDED our expectations! Two changes are that you order by kiosk, which takes cash or charge and a convenient self service soft drink station. We actually LIKED these two changes. I would highly recommend this Steak 'n Shake location.Parking: Ample free parking in on-site parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Options and atmosphere conducive to families with children.
