Ordered a bowl and it took over an hour for it to be ready. The Uber driver texted me multiple times saying they were giving him attitude and wouldn’t tell him when it would be ready. I couldn’t cancel this even though I didn’t want it anymore. It said 15-20 minutes and I’m now still waiting for it.

The workers really had a nonchalant attitude saying things such as "when people stare at me I'll go ten times slower!" "Just to to Tropical Cafe it's better!" No appreciate for their jobs and no respect for the waiting customers.

The atmosphere seemed very inviting until we noticed the multiple receipts and balled up napkins all over the place, the tables were not cleaned off and there were only two other customers inside there was not a rush at all. The wait time for two bowls was excessive, there was more chatter going on than focusing on preparing the food. I am not sure if beating the frozen mixture into the bowl with your fist is a practice of the establishment but it was very concerning to see happen. The smoothie flavors tasted as if they have been sitting with frostbite. We will be hesitant to visit in the future.

Had this place a couple of times and it can be good, but the last few times it took over 40 minutes to get a smoothie and an açaí bowl. Smoothie was given with zero napkins available and the smoothie got all over my wife’s hands. Wasn’t good either, tasted old. This place is overpriced as well, so for something like a smoothie to take 45 minutes is wack. Employees seem undertrained and unprepared as well.
I come all the way from the northwest side of Chicago for these bowls. Ive been getting them since they were under the previous name and I’ll definitely keep coming back!
