Must go now! Everything is delicious! Everything. Rarely a wait! Plenty of parking. Service is very attentive. We've been going for over 20yrs and it never disappoints. Music isn't too loud. Very clean and spacious.

We have been eating and ordering here for a few years, but the food quality has really declined. We kept giving WG another chance but the food quality has only gotten worse and is still overpriced. We could not even eat the food we ordered tonight. We will not eat here anymore. Also the staff could learn to be more courteous to their customers.

Been coming here for years and they have never missed the mark. Always top tier service with really tasty reasonably priced food. I come out from Chicago just for their fried rice!

As an Asian American and coming from New York City, I'm usually fairly critical on Chinese food. I had low expectations coming to a place in the middle of Des Plaines, IL, but I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the food and it's flavors. To my surprise, they had all the classic menu items that will bring joy to your palate with their specialties of really good noodle soups. My family and I enjoyed their friend dumplings, their rice dishes and of course we each had all different soups. It's as authentic as it gets for IL I think, definitely would come back here again!

I live in Florida and was visiting my daughter that lives in Lake Zurich and was in Des Plaines when I happened to find Wonton Gourmet. This was 2 years ago, then the food was beyond good. Good quality, great tasting and good service. I'm back visiting my daughter and I was so ready for great Chinese food and went there 2 days ago, New Year's Day to be exact. There was only 4 customers inside at a table. I had ordered for our food to go. I was so very disappointed, the food quality was so so poor. I'd say that the sweet and sour chicken had double breading to the size of pieces of the chicken. The orange beef had three times breading to the size of the beef pieces. The noodle soup had so much fish sauce and the noodles smelled terrible. The inside of the egg rolls was brown! We threw it all away and it cost $72 . I'm not complaining about the price if the food was as good as it used to be! I won't return. To the owner , please raise the price and make great Chinese food again. The food that I bought home was absolutely terrible. I gave 2 stars because the food was ready on time and I received everything that I had ordered.

Food is consistently very good for many years. I have bought their food for over 30 years when they were still a counter/ carry out place down the street. Highly recommend this restaurant !!!

Amazing food. When we sat down to eat, it was a little hectic, and you could tell that they needed more weight staff, but these days most businesses are running on a less than ideal number of employees. The food, best I've had in the area. The messed up part is that I live across the street from it and it took me 2 1/2 years to go. I had had so many awful Chinese food experiences, I was hesitant. one day I really wanted orange chicken, so I stopped to give them a chance, and I wish I had gone when I first moved over here.

Good food. Pretty authentic. Probably one of the best Hong Kong style wonton noodle soups in Chicagoland.

Overall Thoughts: The "sister restaurant" of the recently closed 7 Treasures restaurant in Chicago Chinatown, Wonton Gourmet serves up dishes reminiscent of 7 Treasures such as their signature 554 dish and wonton noodle soup. Unfortunately, they don't have the classic 7 Treasures meat combo dish with crispy pork belly, which was among my favorite things to order there. The prices are also higher than 7 Treasures, though still very reasonable. The service is quick and friendly, and the interior is spacious and nicely decorated. Located next to the 606 bus stop (which departs out of the Rosemont blue line stop), it's convenient to visit even if you're coming here without a car from the city. Food I tried: - Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup with Chinese Broccoli (+$2.75) (4.5/5): The wontons are delicious and taste exactly as they did at 7 Treasures. They're flavorful with thin skin and umami soup, and the noodles soaked up the flavor of the soup quite well. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.4/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4.5/5

Always exploring Chinese food in suburbia. Always in need a good sit down that isn't just your typical take out place with a counter and few tables. Wonton Gourmet was recently highlighted with the closing of Seven Treasures in the city so it was packed when we went. Service was great. Seated as fast as we could be and server checked in multiple times even though it was busy as could be. Signs of a seasoned staff that can handle that dinner rush. Food was appropriately portioned for the price but the quality is probably what makes it a staple for all those that seemed like regulars. Ordered the Seven Treasures' "554" - nothing will ever be like the original but perfect for a quick fix. Kids are obsessed with Char Siu so we also got the Noodles with Shrimp Wonton & Char Siu. Good as well. Also got classics -Singapore Noodles and Gan Chow Beef Fun. Left stuff and will be back when I am in that area.

Really enjoyed it, first time there. Great for large groups or a table of 2 .Serving sizes were large, definitely split 3 ways. The house fried rice was excellent, can't wait to visit again.

It's been well almost a decade since my last visit ! Well worth trying ! It was extremely busy for a Sunday evening early dinner time (4-6ish). Extensive menu but would highly recommend and suggest trying their signature dishes listed on their glass wall inside. I really enjoy their BBQ pork dishes ESPECIALLY their CHOW FUN. Their noodles are very similar to Lad Nar in the sense they are crispy and soft all at the same time! (Hard and then soft when dipped in sauce) VERY tasty and unique !Service was attentive as well. Solid and strong B+. It's extremely hole in the wall and only by word- of -mouth!
