Bittersweet posting here. It had been awhile since I last visited Lotus. I went for a late lunch and ordered the green onion pancake appetizer along with sesame checken for an entree. The appetizer isn't often found in many Chinese restaurants, so I was glad to see it on the menu and enjoyed it immensely. The sesame chicken was pretty good too - served with small bits of chopped zucchini (I believe) and a slightly sour sauce, which was both good and different from other sesame chicken entrees I've tried. I also ordered a shrimp fried rice to take home for later consumption - haven't had that entree yet. But the bittersweet part about this post isn't about the food that I ordered, butthe fact that I was one of the last customers to be served at Lotus - the owners are retiring and the restaurant is officially closed. Always enjoyed some good meals there in the past, especially with my mom who really liked dining at Lotus. Always sad to see a place go that's been around for 3 decades... I wished them the best.

Amazing Taiwanese menu, very authentic and tasty. Anything with the pig intensities was good; and I have not seen Hakka style stir fry anywhere in Chicagoland.

The only thing I ordered the was good is the chicken fried rice. The mongolian beef had no green onions, was not spicy, and did not have the bed of rice noodles. The fried shrimp had more breading than shrimp and I was very disappointed after spending fifty dollars plus ten dollar tip for the driver. The spring rolls were ok but I've had better. I think for the money you spend the food could be a lot better. The chicken with chinese broccoli was missing some ingredients, mainly ginger and the chicken looked and tasted like it wasn't freshly cooked. This may first and last dining experience there.

The best Orange Chicken and Hunan Beef!! This is our go to Asian cuisine. It's affordable but quality food. The noodles are excellent as well. We order from here whenever we have a party and it does disappoint.

The absolute ONLY place I will eat Hot & Sour Soup as it's is PERFECT every single time and ALWAYS taste the same as expected. Steam Mini Buns never disappoint and neither do Singapore Noodles and Mushu Pork. My favorite clean eating Chinese food. I order every other weekend!

Sold a gift card pre-pandemic, and would not accept it after. My family has been going here for 30 years. My grandma ordered food here once a week through the pandemic to help keep them going. When it came time to pay for a dinner with her sister, the owner, Lisa, refused to accept the $35 gift card. It's heartbreaking since we love their food, but if you're going to pull this kind of thing, screw you.Edit: it is ironic how the owner berated my grandma, but quickly responds to a review saying they can give us a new gift card. I would remind them that in Illinois, denying the gift card is illegal. :)

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in this area. I am addicted to their pot stickers.I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely delicious! Come in person if you can - the owner is so friendly, and I loved having tea to enjoy. Lots of great Taiwanese dishes - order the pork belly sliders! They are the perfect mix of juicy pork, crunchy veggies, and soft bao bun.

The oyster pancake is disgusting. Don’t waste your money over there.

The pork belly sandwiches are my favorite! Very savory with a hint of sweet.

If I could give them no stars I would!!! Ordered $70 worth of food and messed up my order by leaving out item. When I called obviously aggravated and upset was met with an aggressive person on phone not believing that my order was wrong. They checked their system and realized they were wrong, why pass me around to explain myself. Keep your credit and I'll never order from here again.

Cannot find a better place like here if you’re the one looking for Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine, especially the Taiwanese one !
