Very, very, very average food, and prices on the high side. I've had both breakfast and lunch here, and that's a wrap for me. I'd rather try a new place than endure more uninspired fare. The Cubano sandwich was below average (it's edible, but actually, the worst Cubano I've ever had): dry meat, sandwich not grilled, and not enough tang. The side of sauteed spinach was just that: sauteed spinach with no attempt at seasoning or sauce. If you'd expect the special Tandoori Chicken sandwich to have the marinated Tandoori chicken, you'd be wrong. It was plain, cooked-til-dry chicken breast on bread with a chutney, which apparently is its only Indian qualification. Breakfast was similarly average and pricey for what it was. Service is reasonably fast, so if you have a large group and want to surround yourself with paintings by that one relative who never went to art school, this could be a good fallback.

The Lucky Platter on Main Street in Evanston has good food, fast service and an interesting decor. Opened over 30 years ago. It has an eclectic menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A great place for a quick meal.
Great service and broad menu from soup to entrees to deserts and full bar.

1 star only because 0 isn't an option. I ate lunch here today with my 2 year old son and my father. We are regulars here and have never come across an issue before. We orders fried pickles as an appetizer, I've had them before here and they were delicious! Today they were extremely salty so I asked our server if he could take it off the bill, he said no problem and went to speak with the manager. Not sure what the managers name was, brown hair, glasses, usually wears a flannel around 6ft late 40's. Anyway, he comes to our table and puts the fried pickles back on the table and tells me that he tried the pickles in the back and they didn't taste salty. He then asks if I want a box for them or if we wanted to keep them on the table. I'm also a server myself, so I was very shocked at his response. I tell him well obviously we didn't like or eat the appetizer so if he could take it off the table and off the bill and he told me "you walk in the door knowing what our food tastes like, you have to pay for what you order" I then keep quite as I'm in complete shock of his attitude and the way he is trying to handle the situation. 5 minutes go by and the check still isn't on the table so I go back to the front where he is and explain my frustration and asked him is this 1 appetizer worth losing guests that regularly come in to eat. I told him I've never come across this problem before even working in the industry for some time. He then tells me "you must not be a good server" what kind of customer service is this???? I've never had an issue before here. I then walk back to my table and he follows me and aggressively puts the check on the table and says "I hope you grow up" right in front of my 2 year old son and my father. Completely unreal. Never coming back

Ordered takeout and my receipt clearly states that I’d like for my tomatoes to be swapped for potatoes. Came home and no potatoes.
Had a really nice lunch here today. I ordered a scramble the food was very good. We sat near the window which had great natural light. I used to go here a lot back in the 1990's, it's great to know the place is still going strong. The tables were full and they were doing a good lunch business. Would totally return and recommend to friends.

My husband and I have been stopping here for years whenever we made our drive in to visit Vogue Fabrics in Main. We have never been disappointed. Love the eclectic art and atmosphere. And the food is fresh and very good. Vogue Fabrics has since moved to warehouse location but son and his wife have moved into Evanston. So now this is our place to eat whenever we visit. Keep up the great work!
I've been going here for over 20 years and I still love it. I have introduced friends and family to this restaurant and everyone enjoys it.

Unfortunately server, guy with glasses, is rude and made me uncomfortable. Was ordering my food and got cut off very rudely while I was talking to him about my order. Not a pleasant experience at all very cold and rude. Won’t be coming
Loved the mashed sweet potatoes!
