We got this via door dash last night. Wow. So healthy and delicious. I got the goddess greens and it didn’t even need an added protein. The dressing was so good. My husband got the Mediterranean mix up and loved it and son got the ode to the roasted veggie. So excited for this addition to Evanston. We also love the non plastic containers!!!

Picnic is so delicious. My office gets it almost once a week. Always so fresh and filling. My only qualm is the rabbit food bowl is always a bit too over-

Ordered the spicy spring roll salad for lunch today and it was delicious! It can be easily made gluten free if you ask them to switch Super Grains for the Rice/Quinoa blend. They accidentally forgot to put the dressing in the salads before they were delivered, and when we called to let them know, someone from the store drove them to our location right away. Amazing service!

This place is my go-to lunch spot, I get it often during the week. Healthier food options yet hits the spot and leaves me satisfied. They do have desserts if you need something sweet (the lemon tart is insanely good). They are carry out only and you either order online or at a carry out screen at the counter. Quick, efficient and delicious. Love the concept.

Fast and delicious and I appreciate the minimal concept. Portions are filling and often enough for leftovers.

This place taught me it’s not that I hate salad, is that I hate badly made salad without flavors. Best cooked healthy food in the city by far!!!!

You walk into this place, with its Instagram color palette and its pampas flowers, and it could be anything: a dentist, an esthetician's waiting room, a little twee jewelry store... but it's actually a sweetgreen-style salad bar. Ok. You order on the screen, and then you wait for an invisible worker to make your salad behind a wall. The worker pops out eventually, calls your name, you pick up your salad, you go. Probably younger 20-somethings with social anxiety might be into this, but to me the entire experience is totally wacky and clinical. Yeah, one could argue that having to see your to-be salad ingredients sitting in little tubs behind a glass wall is a lot less appetizing, but honestly, this is worse to me because it's more absurd, and trying to be "chic" (that's a stretch-- maybe the word is "trendy")The first time I ate from here was via delivery when the place was new. My salmon bowl was fresh, quality ingredients, I felt like "yeahhhh. an independent sweetgreen, love this." Yesterday I got delivery and my kale chicken caesar was like... bone dry. You know when a salad is bone dry, like the pieces of lettuce were cut up 8 hours ago? There was also one ingredient in it (probably the Parmesan crisps? I'm assuming?) that had that nasty taste of something that's been on the shelf for a bit too long. The preservatives were persevering. Ugh vom... this is the longest review I've ever given a food establishment, but I can't remember another food establishment that has offended my sensibilities more. God bless.

I like homemade salads as much as the next person, but you can only make the same handful of favorites so many times before you get sick of them. And buying different ingredients for new salads can get pricey. That's where Picnic comes in. For a fraction of your grocery bill and half what you'd pay at nearby dine-in restaurants, you get a healthy, filling meal.Let's start with Picnic's strengths: The food. The freshness. The variety.I ordered the Miso Mantra, and it arrived in perfect condition with the quinoa still warm. The salad was totally delicious. And the menu offers plenty of other vegan options for return visits. The downside: I had been in Evanston and had stopped by on a whim. But there's no in-store ordering. (Yeah, I kind of knew that, but forgot.) Ok, I'll just order carry-out on my phone, right? Wrong. At least on the Yelp app, it said the business was not offering carry-out. Yet standing outside shivering, I watched as other people walked in and picked up carry-out orders.A lot of customers would give up in that situation and head to one of many nearby competitors that let you just walk in and order. I don't object to businesses being Very Online, but if you're going to do that, please make sure people can actually place carry-out orders online. I hope they fix whatever glitch that was, because Picnic does an excellent job of preparing fresh, healthy food at reasonable prices. Worth some repeat business.
