Small town bar with the atmosphere you want from a small town bar.The food is top notch and I've had my share of bar burgers from around the area. I drive out of my way just to eat here. Great owner. Pleasant and inviting. Exemplary of what one would expect. Don't let the outside fool you. It's old school decor adds to the charm.

All I can say is that when I entered the bar I felt as though I had stepped through a time machine because what I saw was truly a blast to the past. The first thing that I noticed was the clanking of metal chains and next the whip cracking. When I turned the corner I saw what seemed to be several large chunky men beating and whipping 3 African Americans who were on their hands and knees picking up trash from the floor. Several racial slurs were heard that day and I was appalled by what I witnessed. Their burgers are really good so a 10/10 for food.
A dear friend of mine is a musician, Dan Hurt, who performed at Billy Bob’s on a Sunday afternoon. The bar and grill sits in small Evansville, sitting on the Kaskaskia River. The building itself is filled with history. It was once a general story, a hotel, and even a brothel! This is according to the owner, who gave us a wonderful tour of the 3-story building. The current owners are careful to maintain the historical integrity of the place while making it a comfortable “joint” for their customers. On this afternoon, the atmosphere was a family feel. We enjoyed fantastic burgers and fries, fried mushrooms, onion rings (amazing!), and drinks. The menu is the usual bar offerings, but it was delicious. Dan Hurt performed from 2:00 until around 6:00, and the music was a fun mix of old country favorites as well as a few original numbers of his. The owner is also a musician who occasionally performs, too. Coming soon is a game room that will offer a variety of slots and other machines. I will definitely return even though it’s an hour’s drive from my house.

Highly recommend the food here.Burgers are hand made. Not the frozen patties. And they are so good. And BIG. I got the crispy chicken and my boyfriend got the double cheeseburger with bacon. He could only eat half, and he can eat. And my crispy chicken was great. I could only eat half as well. These aren't skimpy sandwiches. Also, the Buns were grilled . I also got the Buffalo bites, which i recommend. We will be eating here again!!
