Food was amazing! sweet potato waffle was absolutely delicious. Shrimp and grits did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and attentive. Live DJ. Plays music according to the crowd. Crowd on the day I went was much younger and livelier. So there was lots of dancing and twerking and group shots as they celebrated. But after that group left the DJ mellowed out and played and the vibe was very chill. Small restaurant so reservation is required and you are only allotted 90 minutes to dine and vibe. It would be even nicer if they moved to a bigger building with private dining rooms for parties

I went to my friend's brunch and it was amazing! I had the shrimp n grits, fried green tomatoes, and a California Breeze drink, the food portions are almost shareable ?. I love the atmosphere it was fun. The dj played a variety of music. I do suggest making reservations. The only downside is that it is a small brunch spot, and it is somewhat of a tight squeeze.Parking: It is located in a strip mall next to Meijer gas station in Evergreen Park. There is plenty of parking.

Hello all, Where do I began, well myself and one of my good friends went today (Sunday). I called before we left service to ensure if we needed a reservation or not. However I callled the restaurant and the person that answer the phone stated no we didn't need a reservation . So my friend and I went there after service. To our surprise it was packed and there was one hour wait. So we waited patiently. So after the wait we went and we we asked the hostess how much longer. She stated that we could sit at the bar. So we decided to sit at the bar. After we ordered we got our food and the food was delicious. We ate and asked for carry out containers and the bill. So as we pack our food up and leave. My friend gets home. She looks at the bill and there was 18% extra charged on the bill. This is something that we were not informed about upon being seated at the bar. I can say for myself. I will not be patronizing this established again . This was a first and a last for me . It's unfortunate that this is also a Black Owned Business. I am really sad about the experience. Thanks

Everyone i dont complain when i go to restaurants and eat. But this time they definitely getting a bad review from me and i will never come back to support this business ever again. Cuz a server put the wrong order in and going To say she repeated back to me but i clearly said steak no damn house meat. So u going to force me to eat something i didn't order and pay for it. Ok bet i definitely recommend people to not go to ur business. so guys don't go to Toast It Iz the food ain't all that far as breakfast only two items on the menu is decent. Please share so people know what they dealing with. Idc if it was black owned business or not

Was excited to try out a new place, so I brought my daughter and grandson. It was moderately full, so we were seated quickly. Maybe they were understaffed that day because it took a while for our server to arrive. We ordered our food, and it was "piece-mailed" to us. The food did not come out all at the same time so by the time the baby got his pancakes me and my daughter's food was cold. The menu and what you are billed are different prices, the OJ was Mr. Pure out the glass bottle and it was not good. It has the capability to be a great place, but they definitely need help now.

My sister ordered a breakfast skillet it came out ice cold and on a glass bowl not a skillet. My steak was dry not butter no juice no seasoning. My Pepsi pop was awfully flat. The salad was unbelievable it was discussed how can you go wrong with a salad. Now the service from the waitress was awesome very good service from them but everything else. Throw the whole restaurant away

I've been here twice and the service has not improved. If I say I cannot eat a meal because it's way too salty, you would think the server would just remove it from the bill. No, she left it on there and asked others in the party if they wanted the shrimp and grits after they sat on the table the entire time. Someone just said forget it I'll just take it. Is it that taxing to remove an item? They were also watery as heck. Toast It Iz is a vibe but the service is mediocre at best. Do better black people.

A friend of mine took me here for my birthday. My selection was the Gumbo Grits & Fried Cat Fish Fillet and the Cajun Devil eggs, very delicious. Good service. We went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Live DJ , playing a selection of R&B and hip hop. I will most definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others. Great job toast it iz
The food was good but the service sucked. And the place, it wasn't that big so I don't know why it was taking sooo long and breakfast cooks a lil fast. The drink were on point too but yeah they for yourself because I did enjoy my food
