The outside looks unordinary but once inside youll see a quaint little pub with lots of charm. I'm always in search of the perfect Guinness and this spot almost had it. They almost poured Guinness the correct way but they tend to rush it and over filled and spilled. It was also fairly pricey for a pint of Guinness. Give it a shot if you're in the area.

Great thin crust sausage/pepperoni pizza! Jalapeno poppers were also tasty and piping hot! Cozy bar to watch the Northwestern football game on a chill Saturday afternoon.

Love this pub! Have been here several times. The service is great and friendly. The food is really good. They have a decent beer selection. Bathroom is always very clean. They have a few TVs there and are always playing whatever game is on. Has a great outdoor area/patio. They even put up a tent during the winter with heat lamps. If you’re looking for a place to grab a drink and relax then this is a great place.

My first time in the place and the regulars are all on a first name basis. The folks here are great and fun to be around. It definitely has a family reunion atmosphere which gives it a special feel good experience.

Excellent selection of foods and drinks, including an old-school bar with a contemporary lime twist and no additional additives. Also, you can socialize with your neighbors while watching sports.
For those not up on their Chicago bar slang, a "Big McGaffer" is the guy (sorry ladies) who knows a guy, the "boss" you go to for clout, favors, jobs, etc. But when your run-of-the-mill public servant comments, "Oh yeah, he's a Big McGaffer?" they ain't paying no one no compliment. But not to worry, this McGaffer's is a friendly establishment that offers a much needed oasis amid the surrounding box stores and shopping plazas along the car-choked Roosevelt Road.

McGaffer's, newly reopened and refreshed, with a new stone bartop, refinished wood floors and bar back and the same great menu and service! Friendly middle-aged crowd, free parking lot, heated 3-season tent, and lots of sports coverage

Love this place. A very welcoming atmosphere. I love to watch the games in their Big tent with heat when weather changes. Can bring your own food if not there us a kitchen and the bar is affordable.
