My wife and I have been long time customers of the original "The Wine Thief". We've been to the new version 4 times since and have several thoughts to share. My comments are not to criticize but to potentially enhance the experience at this restaurant. However, based on the other establishments owned by the current owners, there may be no interest in such improvements. 1. Food is ok. Lamb chops overcooked and dry. Nothing terrible just bland. 2. Paper napkins at cloth napkin prices. 3. Lighting is too bright. Cafeteria ambience. 4. Staff wear T shirts. Collared shirt would be more appropriate for level of pricing. 5. Ambient music too low to be heard. We definitely noticed the volume of customers is much less than it used to be. I hope they pick up their game or we will be finding a new favorite.

My son & I recently stopped here for dinner. Overall, the food was wonderful. My son had the chipotle chicken sandwich and I ordered the crab cakes. My son's sandwich was almost big enough to justify the $17 price tag. My crab cakes were absolutely delicious; however portion and size were lacking. Two small cakes does not an entree make. But ngl, I would order them again, they were that yummy. Our server was friendly, but hadn't had the opportunity to try many menu items. Note to management: let the staff eat items so they are well informed when speaking with customers. The space was clean, and conversations could be easily had. However, it's lacking a real ambiance for dinner service. Even just adding some window treatments or candles would add a lot of this space. Would I go here again? In a heart beat. What it lacks in ambiance it more than makes up for in food quality.

Our server was great, the place is beautiful. My food was very good once they remade my rare beef tenderloin that came out well done the first time.

Wine and Bourbon selection was great. They changed their menu since the last time I was there, the meat eaters were happy with the menu. There were not a lot of vegetarian options. They had margarita pizza, etc but I was hoping for something a little more unique. Our waitress was wonderful. She actually brought my husband the wrong bourbon (not her fault, someone else poured it) and when he asked her about it she investigated and brought him the correct one. We felt it was admirable that she admitted it was the wrong one right away instead of getting defensive and arguing as most people do. Overall, we are happy with this experience, and will definitely dine here the next time we are in town.

Under the new ownership it seems this restaurant has become a set it and forget it. Hour and twenty minutes, no food. Literally 3 plates out of the kitchen in an hour on a Saturday, you need to do better. Be present, protect your investment. People vote with their dollars and unfortunately, although a historical supporter I will be taking my dollars elsewhere after our recent experience.

Very disappointing (12/02/2023)! Took 42 minutes to receive a charcuterie board which was after getting up to find and ask the server how much longer. Placed sandwich orders and a flatbread pizza order. The pizza arrived and then took almost 20 more minutes to receive the sandwiches. Two sandwiches were gluten free orders. They arrived with the Italian wedding soup which was NOT gluten free but the server indicated they were the minestrone which would've been gluten free. Huge mistake serving gluten containing food to CELIAC patrons. Total time from entry of restaurant to receiving these sandwiches: 1 1/2 hours and they turned out to be cold sandwiches even the bacon was cold as though it was just taken from the refrigerator on the BLT! When manager arrived to receive the complaint it took her 15 minutes of explanation before she could understand our complaint. She was very condescending and off-putting. Manager never offered how she could "fix" the error and never even apologized for serving CELIAC patrons gluten containing food! After 2 HOURS, we left unfed and unimpressed with this establishment. Owner needs to reassess his kitchen, provisions and his managerial staff!! No 2nd time here!

Wow wine thief you did not disappoint! We started our afternoon here with our 6 year old daughter and I could not be more pleased with our service, the food, and the drinks! We had an amazing experience. We ordered several dishes including a seasonal sausage and cheese plate, chicken skewers, a burrata sandwich, and a flatbread for our daughter. We also drank an old fashioned and espresso/pumpkin martinis. Everything was exceptional. The booth/table we sat in was comfortable for a family enjoying an early Saturday lunch. The ambiance was perfect. Bright and airy with ample table space. Plenty of room for our daughter to color and be happy while we enjoyed the craft cocktails. Our server/bartender was amazing! Attentive but not obtrusive. And his drinks are outstanding. The ploughmans starter was fantastic. The house made sausages were one of a kind. The Korean meatballs were delicious. Chicken skewers were fun to share with the kid and delicious.

Service okay. I feel like it used to be better and too overpriced for a small pour of wine. Atmosphere needs some warmth. I do recommend going when they have the outdoor domes. Otherwise it is Good for one glass and an appetizer.

The black forest cake was so good and fresh,my husband had a German dish it was very good I had the the risotto and beef also very good ! We sat on the patio! Had a great time! They have really improved food and service ! It's worth a second chance ...I'm so happy we tried it again.

My wife and I live in Frankfort and went here for our 18th wedding anniversary. The lighting was too white and harsh and the decor very simple creating an ambiance that did not fit my expectations. We got the charcuterie board for an appetizer and a bottle of wine. The appetizer was enjoyable, but the main courses were OK at best.My wife got the filet and said that the sauce covering the meat and dish was way too salty (I did not try it). I got the braised beef, a favorite dish of mine, served over risotto. The risotto was underdone and in some places a little crunchy. The braised beef was too tough and the flavor overall was mediocre. We were overall a little disappointed.

I'll probably go here way more than I should but I love it and I recommend it to everybody. I know the staff is friendly and it's right in the heart of downtown Frankfurt which is nice.
