I ordered a chocolate shake and was given one that looked like vanilla..... When I brought it to the manager's attention he said yeah it looked like it was almost out..... And offered to remake it for me. They were very busy so it took about 7 minutes and it just kind of ruined the whole meal as I was looking forward to having a shake while I ate my steakburger.

Came through the drive through after work at 11pm on 3/19/24. An hour before closing. Was told I would have to wait 5 or 10 minutes for the computer to boot up. I don’t know a computer that takes that long to turn on or why it was off an hour before closing. I said ok I’ll wait. The drive through employee then told me he would have to ask me to not wait in the drive through. I guess this was his plan to get me to leave which it worked. I won’t give my business to someone that rude or lazy not wanting to make me food an hour before closing.

This places used to be a 5 star for me, the food is still great, but the impersonal staff, and how rude they can be is very unpleasant, also the way they have you order now makes it feel less like a restaurant and more like fast food..
The Galesburg location has improved so much over the last year or so. It used to be so run down, and poorly ran establishments I honestly hoped they'd just pull the plug and shut the doors.The new crew running ig is upbeat, friendly and outgoing. Never had a messed up order, always courteous service and delicious food.I do miss the whole dine-in experience where the wait staff would take your order at your table or you'd eat at the bar top. I guess some things we can't keep forever!

Ordering is self-serve and awkward. Who wants to go out for a relaxing dinner and it's do it yourself? Staff a bit pecksniffian. It may be okay for you, but we won't return.Parking: It's a little confusing but right out front.

How the mighty have fallen. Steak n Shake used to be a go to destination when I would visit my folks. No wait service, order messed up. You now have to scan your receipt to dispense a drink. It wouldn’t work for a refill. The floors were very greasy feeling and my feet would start sliding apart when just standing. Not a great environment to be in with parents in their 80s with mobility issues. I specifically asked for no seasoning on the burgers for my parents. Your long-mustached cook put it on anyway. My 84-year old mother got violently ill because she cannot tolerate garlic. The cook showed absolutely no remorse. The Galesburg location won’t be visited by my family again. I plan to post on social media, as well.Parking: At least we were able to get a close handicap parking space.
