Great food, cocktails, and nice spots inside, on the deck, patio and yard too. If they do cigars out in the yard tables that'd be

Food was decent but service and customer consideration was lacking. Mistakes happen and we all slip up but you should make it good in the end.

This place would THRIVE if Nancy the owner, would stay away and hire ANY restaurant manager. The front steps are falling apart so bad I've almost fallen off of them. Even the handrails for supporting older folks like myself are falling off when you put any real weight on them. The deck surrounding the building hasn't been treated properly and it shows. Very tacky with stuff flaking off it.The servers get treated like petulant children by Nancy everytime I'm there and she seems to think it makes a fine dining experience. Scary. The menu prices are always lower than the price on the receipt and Nancy will try to make up an excuse for it but will NOT FIX YOUR BILL. She will then act like you shouldn't be coming there if you don't like paying over $50 for what you were told would be $46. This is for most entrees that I noticed. They add a credit card service fee in 2023(!) and its 3.5% of your bill. Nancy also takes up to 4% of the servers tips as a fee for having to pay them from a credit card. The yard hasn't been maintained in years so there's more than typical amounts of bugs and cob webs everywhere, animal feces on the tables and nearby on the patio floor that seems like it hasn't been pressure washed in years. Branches touch you at your table but the owner "likes" the atmosphere of overgrown trees and having squirrels literally running over your table while you eat.Don't bring a nice date here! Maybe a lady of the night date but not a nice date.Food is AWESOME though if you don't get hair or cockroach parts mixed in!Kid-friendliness: They love talking trash about your kids while you spend over $50 for each of them to just get food lol This place on mothers day treated my family like trash.

The food was mediocre and overpriced. Over the past year the food quality and drinks have gone down and prices went up. Atmosphere is great and service was good. Will not be returning.

A restaurant with a good location/ambiance in geneva downtown. The food looked more delicious than it was... and the entrees were seriously overpriced. I paid less for better cuisine at RPM on the river in downtown Chicago. Add plating charges and a tacked on credit card surcharge, I am pretty certain that I will not come back to this joint....for ho-hum grub.

Food was fine/pretty good but the prices are higher than what you pay at a nicer restaurant in Chicago. That wasn't the 1-star issue though... maybe that's a 3.5. Patten House ownership, Nancy I believe, charges a card processing fee even if you use a debit card. You actually aren't allowed to charge a card surcharge on debit card purchases so I asked them to remove the fee and she rudely lied to my face and said she gets charged that amount so it's just covering the cost. First, that's not true. Second, it's still not legal even if it was true (it's not). She did end up taking it off but with a very rude "if you're going to make a big deal over 11$ then I'll take it off" comment. Gave the extra 11$ to the server in cash so she doesn't steal his money too, he was great. Oh, and also be careful. If you have the kitchen cut anything in half or serve it on two plates or anything the might resemble a "splitting" of a meal they charge an extra 5$. All around such a bad vibe, won't be going back.

Beautiful ambiance, but u can't eat ambiance! Food is so overpriced it's ridiculous. And prices u see online r not what's on the menu on some items. I would not bother going a second time

I hate writing this but I have to. We've been to patten house probably 10 times previously but haven't been for awhile. They have great outdoor seating and the ambiance is excellent. The issue now is the PRICES . They're insane for what's being served. $22 for Brussels sprouts! $14 for a cocktail. Even a turkey sandwich was over $20. I loved the place but the costs added (credit card fee, alcohol tax). It's just too much

Food and drinks were excellent, but this place is very expensive: we had 3 drinks total, 1 diet coke, 2 appetizers, and 4 entrees, no salads, no desserts, no after dinner drinks; the bill, without tip, was $302!
