Golden Wok II is a favorite spot for really good local Chinese food... People are very nice, helpful & turn out consistently fresh delicious food... I usually get delivery - never an issue & always prompt & friendly... They use to have dine in & I loved to go for the lunch buffet with a variety to satisfy anyone...But since COVID it's ONLY pickup, delivery & catering... It hasn't been so easy, but their food is STILL top notch!!! Their brown egg foo young gravy is the Standard & the best I've ever tasted... Here are some of my favorites... Eggrolls, Stir Fried Rice, Crab Rangoons, Shrimp Foo Young, Beef or Chicken Broccoli or with Pea Pods... They make any dish however you want, some changes & or additions come with a small fee, but the consistent quality is hard to beat! Place is nice & clean, it's on the north side of Roosevelt Rd, just a few blocks east of 355 Xway in Glen Ellyn! They have a private lot & ample parking ...Cash or credit... It's been 12 years since my last review of Golden Wok, been coming here since the 90's. Food is still very good, especially the Hot & Sour Soup. I recently tried their Szechuan Beef, they nailed it, high quality tender meat. There are very few Chinese restaurants as good as this, (we drive 9 miles each way to get their food). They have gone to a Carry-Out only format. when they tell you food will be ready at a certain time, it always is.

We had a favorite back in our old town so we had to find something close. We tried a Chinese restaurant in downtown Wheaton and shortly after they closed (the owners retired), so we needed a new one, hahaWe found Golden Wok and haven’t looked back! We love the egg rolls, crab Rangoon, egg rolls, anything spicy, all the dishes are delicious! Not greasy like some Chinese places.We will order again soon!
Probably won't order from here again. My order took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get here. I got frozen food. Not frozen food that was microwaved, but still frozen food. $40 for

Ya’ll DO NOT get food here if you actually enjoy Chinese food, I repeat DO NOT!! It is beyond me how they have a 4.1 rating!! I’m obsessed w Chinese food and love going to new places but the sesame chicken was super chewy/fatty, I threw out half of it because it was THAT BAD!! ); we also got a chicken noodle dish & my bf said the meat was super slimy and see through!!!! Ya’ll I don’t know what they’re cooking for their chicken but it ain’t normal!!!

Sesame chicken and beef fried rice from Golden Wok II are my favorite dishes here . I dare you to find a place that can beat their sesame chicken flavor! This was a staple in my childhood. I didn't visit for years until I said out loud "there are no great Chinese food places in this area!". That caused me to revisit this location and I'm glad I gave it another chance. Will be back many times , regardless of how far away I may live. Simply excellent food!

This has been my go-to choice in Glen Ellyn since I moved to the area over 30 years ago. It isn't the fanciest place around, to be sure, but the price is always fair (even in these inflationary times when everything is more expensive than it was), the people always gracious and it's great comfort food. That scene in every old movie when they're working around the clock and struggling with chopsticks and a box of beef and pea pods? The moment in every romantic comedy when the couple sit outside with takeout? Those are the moments you get with this menu -- and they are always just perfect!
