“Nic Place to stop on a hot day for a cold beer. One of the cleanest bars I have seen in my travels. Even the restrooms. Fast service & the food is good. It can get noisy on weekends but if your looking for a quiet place to drink, come during the week”

“We ordered our holiday meal from Mission BBQ and picked it up on Christmas Eve. I can’t say enough positive about my experience. The person who took my order prior to the holiday was so nice and made sure they hadn’t over committed on carry out orders for that day. When we picked up, it was ready, the folks working were so friendly and they even carried it out to the car for us! The food was amazing and the service was even better. Only suggestion is to allow people to tip with a credit card. I didn’t have sufficient cash to tip the staff like I would have wanted to. They’re awesome and deserve it!”

“Fun place. The outside looks like a barracks, but inside it's a hive of activity. Kitschy advertising signs - Sinclair Oil, Eastern Airlines - vie with Elvis and Marilyn for wall space. Very attentive wait staff, and a pretty extensive menu.I got the fisherman's breakfast: 2 eggs, toast, potatoes and choice of catfish or walleye. It was good, but when I saw the bloke at the table next to me eating the catfish sandwich, which featured 2 large filets on slabs of marbeled rye, I made a mental note to order that next time I'm passing through Springfield. My daughter had the most attention-grabbing dish: a chocolate chip pancake as large as the 33 1/3 vinyl records also on the wall.”

“SO excellent! My wife and I were greeted with a smile upon entry. The host was very kind and did an excellent job explaining how the menu works and where to get your ingredients. The price was extremely fair as it's all-you-can-eat. The quality of the vegetables was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the pork and seasoned shrimp as well. The sauce bar was also extremely versatile and well stocked. Probably some of the best hot-pot around.We will be back for sure!”

“My family and I love Vextor!! We visit several times a week. We love the milk teas and refreshers. Love the boba and the jellies! So many options. The mini eggrolls are great. You can choose your sweetness level and ice level! The staff are awesome too! So friendly and helpful in explaining menu items. I have had boba drinks from other places and they just don’t compare. My fave is the passion fruit lychee milk tea with 25 percent sugar and the Thai Hurricane with brown boba. I also love all of the refresher tea flavors with crystal boba.”

“My first time in was last September for a friend’s birthday- ordered the Spanish style bruschetta and it was good, but not very filling.My second time in was last week. We shared the yucca fries with cheese as an appetizer. These were delicious and I preferred them to the steak fries that came with my meal. The spicy blackberry margarita is a fan-fave here for a good reason. This time around I tried the Sandwich de Chola and was not disappointed! Service was great both times. Can’t wait to come back and try something new”

“Stopped in for a late lunch. We both started with stuffed cabbage soup, something we'd never heard of no less had. Ir was unique and delicious. My wife had the fried green tomatoes, and I had corned beef and cabbage with a side salad. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The soup was especially good on a cold and wet afternoon. We had an excellent server; he was really attentive and efficient. Next time I'll try the shepherd's pie.”

“Had dinner at Mariah’s tonight and it was fabulous! If you only think of this place for the pasta, you are missing out on some of the best steaks in Springfield. My New York Strip was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The desserts are great and the service top notch. If you’ve never been or it’s been a while, you need to head out to Mariah’s.”

“Food was delicious, fried rice very flavorful and every bite of steak was better than the last. The chef was very polite and his dedication to service made me enjoy the food more even if it did take longer than typical fast food (which should be expected with the types of dishes here). The overall ambiance was the mall food court which at the time was fairly empty but it's kept clean and I was able to enjoy my meal in peace. Will be my go to foodie spot at the mall!”

“We had not been here before but made reservations for tonight. I had the pear salad which was simply delicious. Then I had gnocchi carbonara which was also excellent. My wife had a salad with spiced cauliflower and figs which she thought was wonderful, followed by heated brie with cherries and crostini. It was amazing. Amy, our server, was helpful with my wife's choices (Laura is vegetarian). The only downside was a large table behind us was very loud, possibly from too much alcohol, and the piped-in music wasn't what we consider appropriate for dinner and a quiet conversation. It also was too loud. But we'll be back; I want the pear salad again and a main course of bone marrow and short rib marmalade. Dinner was $30-50 per person.3/17/2024: Please note that the online dinner and brunch menus are out-of-date, so if there's something you want to eat, you ought to phone to find out if it's still available. We went for brunch today, and I wanted the posole, but it's no longer on the brunch menu. My wife had the gluten free pancakes, but the first was wasn't cooked through. However, the chef immediately made another entire order, and Laura was happy. I had the 3-course brunch ($30): braised bacon in maple syrup and cracked pepper (excellent), shrimp & grits (rich and flavorful), and key lime pie (delicious). Kari, our server, was top notch. The most disappointing thing was that a guest couple didn't show up (they forgot to mark their calendar).Luminary has interesting dishes with unique touches. I've had shrimp & grits dozens of times, but never like this with garlic butter, jalapenos, and a sunny side up egg over large prawns. It may be the best I've ever eaten, better than in New Orleans or Charleston. The pie had lime zest in the mix and not the usual almost jelly-like texture. Brunch was terrific, and we'll be back.Brunch was $20-30 per person. The music track was really bluesy which really matched the brunch dining.”

“This place is awesome, totally authentic cuisine, great atmosphere and the margaritas are on point. There are so many mexican restaurants in Springfield but this is by far the best. Migues goes above and beyond to make sure everything from the food to the service is exceptional. Live music on thursdays and fridays, reasonable prices and fast service make El Arriero the best. If you have not been there yet you really must make it a point to go! When you get there tell Miguel Joe sent you!”

“Took 2 of our granddaughters out for a treat. We got the playdough flavor ice cream. They found it humorous that our tongues turned blue while enjoying our bowls of afternoon delight. Since my wife can not eat ice cream, she had a blueberry scone. Sge said it was very good. We will go back again. Thank you for the fabulous experience!”

“Looking for a dive bar with cheap drinks? This is it! Bloody Mary bar today added to the fun. It's a cute bar with great bartenders. We didn't eat so I can't speak for the food though. Next to the bar is another building/patio with a stage for bands to play. It's more of an open air area but in the winter they heat it and close it up. Now in Illinois this means they can still smoke there. If you don't mind the old Smokey bar feel it's great. You can always go in the main building where there's no smoking if you don't want to be around that. I think in the summer it would be a great hangout! We really enjoyed catching up with some friends and if in town would go again.”

“They have the best flavors of ice cream. Authentic Mexican snacks that you can add to your sundae. But their Popsicles are the best ever. So many wild flavors and my favorite so far is avocado. They have acai bowls smoothies churro bowls you name it. Might have to stand in line but it's by far the best place in town to satisfy your sweet tooth.”

“Such a nice friendly establishment with great staff and good tasting food. I've been going here for at least 14 years. Everything I down near Springfield Illinois I stop and have a corn dog.The corn dogs are made fresh to order in their batter and deep fried. It's not the frozen store bought. These are freshly made to order with a thick corn meal breading around the hot dog. Ask for mustard. Best way to eat a corn dog!Their fries are fresh cut with the skin and skinny fries. I like the fries but the basket is way too many fries. If you eat a lot of fries or there's more than 2 in your party then get the basket or if you want the best deal for the price then get the basket.”

“Came here with friends intrigued by the all-you-can-eat sushi option. Do be aware of the rules for this option! Every piece of sushi you do not eat will cost an extra dollar on your final bill. I believe this is a very fair rule, and likely prevents people from over-ordering food and wasting kitchen resources. Great food and absolutely lovely staff!”

“My wife and I absolutely love this place. It's such a beautiful restaurant, and the food is delicious. My wife had the beef and broccoli, and I had the chicken fried rice. Both were so good. Our server was also very nice and gave us great service. We also got my father in law some to go Prawn fried rice (one of the few places in town that offers this dish), and he loved it. We hope this place becomes more popular, as it is truly a hidden gem in Springfield.”

“Best coffee in town and it's strong so it taste like coffee lol. I get it iced in latte form with no flavor and I love it. Nice fun staff too. Love love love!”
