This was my favorite sushi in the burbs. The people were also so nice. I'm so sad it's closed...if there's any community support we can take to help the owners please reach out. I hope they can reopen in another location

This is, hands down, the best sushi I've had in Chicago-land after living here for 16+ years. They have the best, freshest, gluten-free sushi. The chefs are creative and can spin any of their delicious creations into a scrumptious gluten-free version. I'm sad to report that after trying to order by phone several times in the last couple weeks (with no answer), that I swung by the restaurant and found an eviction notice on the door. I will be so bummed if they don't return in some capacity. This is one of the few quality Japanese food establishments left in Chicago-land. Hope we haven't seen the last of Skipjack!

Love their food but SHOCKED by their behavior- been supporting SkipJack throughout the pandemic. Local, convenient, and really great food until... ordered pickup on Saturday, 3/6/21, as I was waiting in the car just outside the window of the kitchen, for my wife to go inside and pick up food, I could clearly see 2 employees, without masks or gloves, talking within 1-2 feet of each other and preparing food for pick up. Then a 3rd appeared from the kitchen and now I could see that they had masks but had pulled them down below their chin. Kitchen worker saw my wife and backed up slightly out of view and waited. The 2 other employees quickly put up their masks after repeatedly touching their faces prior. I spoke with the manager, Tony, who at first denied mask-less workers but then, after seeing my clear view into the kitchen, and clearly embarrassed, said it was only 2 employees (not true) and then said they had just removed their masks (again not true). When I asked what the rule was for preparing food, he said they are to be wearing masks and gloves at all times. When I said "gloves? none of them are wearing gloves!" Tony simply replied, "oh, yes you're right. Sorry." We told him we had serious concerns about the safety of the food and he provided a refund. Why does this matter? Doesn't matter where anybody falls on the political or health spectrum during this pandemic, it seems reasonable to expect that SkipJack is doing everything it lawfully needs to do to keep food safe. Won't be going back.

Great restaurant. Outstanding service and communication. Had the chicken fried rice. Best I've ever had! Was wonderful. Also had the King Kong roll. Wanted seconds with this one. It's just that good! Will be going back this weekend.

A true gem!!! The best sushi restaurant around. The quality is outstanding (they don't use fake Krab in all their rolls) and you can tell everything is fresh. I usually go here for the sushi but I've tried the ramen and it's also delicious. Excellent service and attention to detail. Prices are definitely fair for high-quality sushi. My favorite restaurant in Glenview!

From the moment you arrive in that place the waiters give you an excellent feeling. Very friendly team, it is a good place to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. Great meals, talented chief cook and stuff, honest cost and professional service. Warmly recommended.

Skipjack is fabulous!! The BEST fried rice - very fresh, very generous portions of chicken - literally the best chicken fried rice on the north shore. Their teriyaki is delicious as are all of their rolls. The skipjack spring roll is awesome too. Service and staff are kind, attentive, and friendly. Highly recommend!
