I really wanted to love-love this place. Cool art deco meets art nouveau atmosphere. Smilish novelties for sale. Good enough chai and menu offerings. But man, a simple “hi” attitude and a some background music would go a long way in this joint. After all, today is the greatest…. (P.S. awesome Chop Suey sign!!)

We had so much fun - My 2 brothers and I stopped in and had some wonderful food and celebration for WPC’s BDay! I painted a cool psychedelic guitar for his BDay with people signing the back - and they are all so nice! Highly recommend the Tea and organic food ? ❤️

This place is really reasonable priced for Vegan food. Portions were good sized and things were very good. The teas were amazing. They also had live music at the time, which was really nice. Definitely will go againx definitely will and have been recommending.

We were in the Highland Park area and this place has been on my radar. Stopped on late Sunday morning.Street parking can be a challenge .You enter thru their gift shop where they offer branded merchandise, tea and vinyl records. Prices are not cheap but many items are unique and cannot be purchased elsewhere. Lots of re-released Smashing Pumpkins records since this place is owned by Billy Corgan. They have various coffees, apps and sandwiches listed on the wall along with a separate menu with daily specials and teas. Prices are not listed on their tea or coffee menu so ask before you order as some of the specialty tea drinks can get pricey. We ordered the breakfast taco special which came with 3 tacos and breakfast potatoes. Not sure why they were called "Breakfast " tacos. Toppings was only 1 onion slice and a few leafs of cilantro. We ordered the pork, beef and chorizo but quite frankly they all tasted the same and were very bland. Nothing had flavor. We also tied a gluten free chocolate brownie which was ok but didn't seem fresh..maybe a day old.Limited seating is available and they had a guitar player while we ate which was a nice touchThe place has a cool vibe and I would go back but probably for just a drink and a pastry.

Was very impressed with the hibiscus clementine iced tea. The banh mi was pretty good and definitely had some heat to it. Plan to return to try some other items. The staff was extremely nice. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Definitely felt like a place where people could come during less busy hours and work on their computers, read, etc. while enjoying the food/drink.

Vegan place done wrong, could have been so much better with a nice interior yet the food is flat as fart. Lacks initiative and effort in the kitchen. Cold reheated potatoes and no seasoning. The impossible burger was possibly not delicious. Also try salting food.

Best tea in the Chicagoland area! The vegan food is also amazingly delicious, even if you're not vegan! They also have some board games to use if you want- though the playing cards pictured are my own, lol.

Was pretty excited to experience this unique venue. Met a group of about a dozen friends and found some seating together. Ordered our food after waiting in a long line that moved painfully slow. Realized that this happens with large groups, but to have one person taking orders while 2 others just hung around was curious. This was nothing though, compared to a 40 minute wait for my meal, while others who ordered afterwards were served in 15 minutes. After alerting the waitperson twice in 20 minutes, I finally went to the counter, where the staff seemed unaware, (clueless) of the situation. When my Breakfast Sandwich finally did arrive, the item was cold, the patty "smooshed" with about 1/4 of a provolone slice, slightly melted. Even the tasty Moonlit Litchi Blossom tea and great jazz couldn't salvage this meal. Hearing others in our party being underwhelmed with the food, only left me feeling flat and disappointed at what could have been.

To begin, we love and recommend Zuzu’s to our friends. So much of everything is just perfect. However on my past few trips I’ve been consistently disappointed in the poor quality of the side potatoes. I didn’t get them today but both of my friends did and noted how dry and flavorless they were. The service has been hit or miss and often not too friendly. They almost always forget one of the beverages ordered in my party.I love this place and know it can be better!!

This whimsy, retro-style tea café offers a great variety teas, vegan breakfast items, assorted sweet treats and more! We the tri-tacos, cheese enchiladas, vegan chorizo enchiladas, oatmeal cranberry cookies, coffee and matcha latte. Madame Zuzus also sells candles, albums, ornate frames, incense, wax food items for your table displays and other interesting odds and ends. The tacos and enchiladas were pretty tasty, but the potatoes tasted old and bland and few actually tasted cold. The other disappointment was waiting about 30 minutes for our food, although the café wasn't crowded. The cookies, tea and coffee were delicious and the servers were friendly. We also went for the live, free music which featured a jazz duo, who performed classic tunes along with a vocalist. The show was great and we'll go back soon for more vegan tacos and live music!
