Food and service was great. Only question: Coffee $3.50 a cup, hot tea $5.00? That surprised me.

My friend and I were looking forward to a fun get together, but were extremely disappointed with the service, which is a shame due to the south Elgin location’s service being phenomenal. The waitress had a very thick accent and appeared very new to the job and it took a very long time to complete our order. I ordered plain pancakes with chocolate chips ($11 pancakes with $2 up charge for choco chips). She wad also not very attentive. My friend ordered a waffle and she didn’t receive whip cream with her order. When it came time to pay the bill the waitress came over and my bill was higher than it should’ve been since they gave me the specialty peanut butter pancakes when I just ordered plain ones with chocolate chips. I never said anything about peanut butter or powdered sugar, even though it was very delicious. When my order originally came I wasn’t sure if the pancakes came like that or they did it on accident, but I didn’t bother telling the waitress since it was already a struggle to get the order through the first time and I was scared I wouldn’t get the pancakes back if I corrected her. The bill was a few dollars higher than it should’ve been, and I asked the waitress about it and she brought over another waitress since she didn’t understand. That waitress kept talking about how I should’ve brought it up when they brought it so they could correct it and that it was half eaten and continued arguing with me and my friend when we were trying to correct a simple mistake without being rude. They brought over the manager and she (blonde, glasses) was even ruder. She spent five minutes lecturing my friend and I how to act at a restaurant like we were children, blaming us for our mistake. She kept insisting that my friend and I should’ve told our waitress and that I shouldn’t have eaten it if it was wrong. It felt demeaning and like we were being looked down on. I work in the restaurant business, I get that mistakes happen, but as a manager you do NOT stand there having a petty argument with your costumers refusing to correct the mistake. She didn’t even apologize until she came back after comping it back to the price it should’ve been even though she made us aware that she “normally doesn’t do this and normally wouldn’t but she’d make an exception this time” and gave us a petty apology that makes me think someone overheard and complained. We weren’t even arguing, my friend was standing up for me in a very friendly manner. We were very cordial, but didn’t understand why the three women were rude and wanted to just argue instead of losing a few bucks. South Elgin would NEVER. We were regulars there and they constantly showed amazing customer service and immediately corrected mistakes without asking questions. In the end, my friend and I are never going back, and I wanted to tell the manager that with as many competitive brunch places as there are in the area we will easily take our business elsewhere and they shouldn’t treat customers like that if they want to keep them. So disappointing, do NOT recommend

Great food but they charge a “convenience fee” for PICKUP orders! What in the world is convenient about picking up your order?!

I visited again, and the number of guests gradually increased due to the epidemic. Today's meal is different from last time. My sister ordered omelette eggs, which is different from the omelette eggs usually served for breakfast in restaurants when traveling, because there are nearly 20 options. I ordered a sandwich today, which was breakfast and lunch, plus dinner. Because the sandwich was too big, I couldn't even finish one, so I was really saving money today, but for young people, it was enough to finish.

My recent experience with Honey Berry - Hoffman Estates left much to be desired. I placed an order for my family through their website, enticed by a promised 20% discount, but the website malfunctioned, causing significant frustration and inconvenience. My total was approx $125.00. Despite trying to order through Google as an alternative, the incomplete menu forced me to resort to Grubhub (which I've had success with before but this was just a super frustrating experience).Upon picking up my order, I spoke to the manager, Gabby, who offered a $25 credit for my next visit due to the website issue. Unfortunately, this credit didn't resolve the ongoing technical problems. On my subsequent attempt to order online, the same issues persisted, and Gabby could only offer the $25 credit from my prior order or the new 20% discount from my current order, which would've only been $5.What added to the disappointment was the lack of friendliness and professionalism from the staff during these interactions. While the food at Honey Berry - Hoffman Estates is good, the pricing seems unjustified, especially when compared to other establishments like Savoury in Bartlett or Wildberry in Schaumburg.Overall, the repeated technical issues, coupled with the unprofessional handling of the situation, have led me to decide against returning to Honey Berry - Hoffman Estates. I hope they address these issues promptly to improve the customer experience for others.

Vegetarian options: Vegan beyond meat hash was very filling. Don't get a side of hash too, it's too much potato. Toast wasn't really toasted. Bacon, requested crispy, wasn't too crispy. It's loud if there's groups or crowded. It'd help if there was a glass partition between bar and seating area. Bar machines were loud, heard throughout place.Dietary restrictions: Offers GF

I had a country fried steak from them. I was let down since the meat was more like meatloaf than it did like a steak. Please don’t misunderstand me It was crispy and tasty, and the gravy gave it a lovely finishing touch.

Usually have a great experience here. Today, I took my kid out to breakfast, the food came out fast, piping hit and delicious. I felt the waitress was having an off day, though.Unfortunately, we had to wait forever to get our bill, and then she never came back to take the payment. Another server could sense my irritation and took the payment for me.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant at least 1x a quarter since they opened. Initially, I would have given a full 5 star review. However, over the last few visits, there have been so many issues/problems. To clarify: these visits are all on weekdays.Today was the icing on the cake of worst service I have ever received.I arrived with my husband, 1 year old child and brother. The initial greeting was poor. It’s a Thursday and they had 5 tables - not busy enough to be rude.Had to ask another waiter to get our waitress. Our waitress was incredibly rude, We waited 15-20 minutes before we got coffee. Never acknowledged our child, never asked if he needed anything - water, juice, food, etc. she just pretended he wasn’t there. We FINALLY got our coffee, but important Note our waitress didn’t bring the coffee!! We had to go to the bar to ask for the coffee after asking 5 or 6 times for it. Our waitress finally figured it out and said “did you need something?” …… YES, the coffee we ordered now 20 minutes ago. She didn’t even apologize.Additionally, the 2 people who needed/ordered the coffee have been up all night working. So for a breakfast place to not provide coffee when we walked in asking for it is just insane. The waitress literally had ZERO sense of care or urgency. We never got refills on our coffees or waters. I went the entire meal without water. She never checked in on us to see how our food was or ask if we needed anything.2 out of the 3 meals came out wrong.I was charged for sausage that we never received.I was dumbfounded to see that she charged us for the coffee - I realize it’s like $4 - but she was more than aware of the continued coffee issues and did nothing to make it right.I complained to the manager for the day to make her aware of the issues/situation. She was fantastic and IF I ever go back I’ll be asking for her.Other issues include:1) the Wild Mushroom Omelet comes with 3 different types of mushrooms. The last 4 times I have ordered it they have only had 1 type of mushrooms and have been sooo skimpy with the mushrooms2) the wait staff seems to unanimously have no idea how to put in an order to make an omelet order into a skillet3) the wait staff seems to have a lot of turn over and everyone seems to have zero experience as a waiter.Needless to say, I don’t think I will ever be returning. It’s a shame because the food is great and the atmosphere is cute. However, it is pricey to go out to eat in this economy and when the service is trash, I have no reason to continue being a customer.
