“I want to start out by saying I've never been here before we got here and a very polite young lady served us my wife ordered the cabbage rolls and they were fantastic I had a half pound Swiss mushroom burger it was delicious the prices were very good I would highly recommend this place especially if you like a good burger“
“Is great and wonderful deli. It is very spacious. The aisles are wide. You can find What You Need. That's if you speak Polish. People who can help you. The deli is terrific when a great assortment of items to choose from plus sandwich. Meat everything you need is right there. It is not a place where you can sit down and eat. It's mostly a small grocery store with a meat counter.“
“You can hardly make anything out of it when you stand in front of the building. But when you walk in, that's a different story. The decor has highlander accents all over. Lots of pictures of polish Tatry mointains with people dressed in their traditional outfits. Beautiful bar area. Food is what sets this restaurant apart from other, similar restaurants. Try anything from the menu and you won't be dissappointed. One thing to br aware of - if there is a live music going on, it is even hard to order from the waitress. It gets really loud.“
“I was here for a funeral luncheon. The service was great. People were friendly and helpful. The entrance has a lift for handicap access which was awesome. The food was ok at best. Family style spread. Dumplings were mushy and flavorless. Beef was forgettable. Breaded pork tenderloin was good but dry. Overall served its purpose as a gathering place, but I wouldn't go there just for food.“
“First time dining at Highlander house and already can't wait to go back! The food was phenomenal, the service was wonderful and the price was very reasonable. It was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the potato pancakes, pierogis, and stuffed cabbage.“
“So, I don't usually go a full 5 across the board, but was surprised by this one. The menu is a modern American take on Polish dishes and vise versa with a Polish twist on American staples. You really can find almost anything you would expect to find at a quick diner establishment. The ambiance is nothing special, a typical Chicagoland quick sitdown... except a little more. The feeling doesn't say you're home having a home cooked meal, but the longer you're there the more it gives that warm embrace and ambiance. The cost of items on the menu have obviously changed, being they're different than the board they were printed on. However, nothing stands out as overpriced or ridiculous. Everything is made to order so there is a small wait time - they nail it with their "slow fast food" marketing. Yet even the small wait makes this even more worth it, everything comes out fresh, and doesn't have a mass purchase bulk item they prep and plate feel - everything tastes either homemade or higher end quality. It's a nice change of pace. Items on the menu hit all the cultural points of the surrounding area to really have an option for everyone in the party. Wife and I did lunch, spent maybe 10 minutes from order to food and while we went more American staples, they all had a slight Polish touch to them that really made them familiar and yet completely different. BLT was massive compared to what we expected, the "highlander take" on a classic Philly was completely unexpected and yet really works. Breaded mushrooms were great [I can't stand them normally] and the perogi... just get the perogi! All in all it was as expected yet at the same time nothing like we expected. Counter server was polite and a delight, back house staff work quick and to a level of perfection you won't expect first visit. Definitely going to be telling everyone to check this place out and will be back many more times to chip away at the menu offerings.Kid-friendliness: Rather vast kids menu for such a small place. Def has something for all of them.“
“Very nice, renovated banquet hall, delicious food, very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place. They also have a restaurant and it's always busy because of great food and service they provide. 5 stars from my experience.“
“This place has the best Polish food. I have been looking for good fresh polish sausage after Bobaks closed several years ago. I tried many places and could not find a good place until I stumbled upon Gorka's. Their sausage is the best. They also have frozen or prepared other Polish specialties. The pierogis, saurkraut, dumplings, cabbage rolls and more are delicious. Highly recommend!“
“Nice Little Polish Deli: but you're in the wrong place if you're sittin' on the fence with 'Jenny Craig' and 'Seattle Sutton'. Have some fun with an endless supply of Smoked Sausage, Bacon and Pastries. Grab a 'Meaty Sub' that's slathered in Cream Cheese! The Fresh Polish Sausage tastes just like Grandmas kitchen. Grandma likes 'Garlic', and a cocktail or two...“
