The service was good. We got a flauta and el pastor taco dinner. The food is pricey but it is very good. We so got tortilla chips and they were super fresh and light and crispy.

I was all about this place for years! I told lots of people about this place UNTIL my now wife started working there and told me how unsanitary they are and how she used to be embarrassed seeing roaches crawling on the floors or finding dead mice in the kitchen areas. There is mold growing everywhere in that place because my wife would tell me she couldn't breathe while working, she always felt sick. Don't ever send your mother father daughter son or any family to work there because treat their employees like literal poo. They make the employees lock up their cellphones in the bosses office. (Invasion of privacy) if there is an emergency and you call the store because you need your spouse they will make your spouse feel bad for leaving for their children. They also would make my wife go all day without eating. They are not allowed to bring food from home. My wife was sick from eating their food everyday. She only had 10-15min to eat before being rushed back to work. The women who have been there a long time are the mean ladies in that business. They just want your money and don't care about nobody. They stole money every week ($50-$60) She was sexually harassed by the men in the back. She would ask them to stop and they would just keep going. She told someone and all it did was make her a bigger target. She then was forced to take her lunch every time with one of the guys who made her feel very uncomfortable. He would stare at her all day and then she had to sit directly across from him on her lunch. When she would take the plates of food from the cookers, he would touch her hand and laugh...pure ignorance. She was told he's a family member of the place so he would never go anywhere and that they would fire her before losing their best cook. The old ladies who work there think the younger ladies working there owe them everything because they are older. Just the way they act explains it all. They will stand back and let the younger ladies run around while they sit back, laugh, and talk shit about them. They threaten all the ladies in there so they are afraid to say anything. Don't ever work there! I wish an undercover boss could come up in there and set that place straight

I used to love coming here. I used to come three or four times a week for years. This week I got a mysterious $24.98 charge on my card which doesn't make any sense because the food that I order, a burrito dinner, always cost $12.05. I leave a $5 tip and it comes out to $17.05. It's the only thing I've ever ordered there for years. There's only one lady there that makes you sign the receipt all the others just do it behind the counter and give you the $12.05 receipt and the tip gets added on later. I never thought much of it cuz I figured if they ever tried to change it and rip me off I would just come back in and bust them out and the owner would take care of it. But I was wrong. Somebody working there changed the receipt so that I left an additional $7.83 on top of the $5 I left. I came in there complained had to explain everything 15 times and the manager and owner. The owner wouldn't even look me in the eye. She showed me a receipt of $17.05 and a tip added of $7.83. I paid $24.98 for a $12 meal. Judging by the way they were handling it wouldn't have done any good to go home and dig through my trash and bring in my receipt that said $12.05. There was also another charge on my card for $17.05 that nobody could explain to me. There's definitely credit card fraud going on there. Now I see why they had to hire armed security to guard the door. If you eat there make sure to pay for your meal in cash or you might get mysterious charges on your card later. They lost a loyal customer. There's too many other good Mexican restaurants in town to deal with credit card fraud from a restaurant run by a cartel of ladies. ?‍♂️

The food is alright not the best. My sister in law got the pozole n it tasted off she had a few scoops, chips and water soup salsa. I tried a taco de lengua and it had no flavor like it’s suppose to. I told the waitress that it’s not good and she said well you consumed it can’t return it I’m like ok never heard of that before. The booth tables are terrible I cut my pants with the bottom of my pants . The security had just stares at you while you eat. The whole place is just not the best. Try another place.

Can u believe that we ordered food for pick up and when we got home we saw this! Smh. Drove from New Lenox to Joliet for that! What a waste! No compensation for my time or gas! Just for the torta only. Bad food, service and management. The entire order could of been tampered with. The owner didn't care.

I was craving some Mexican food but not home cooked meals from my mom. I wanted something fast but also affordable to get. Don't get me wrong I love my moms cooking but it was just one of those days where she didn't feel like cooking. I remember telling my mom how I was craving a torta. That's how we ended up at Taqueria Los Comales in Joliet. I grew up going to eat at this place since it was one of our families favorite after going to church. So I knew the experience was going to be great. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! At first you get to seat yourself in any opening area available when you walk inside. The ambiance was amazing. The restaurant felt comfortable and energetic since it looks like a place in Mexico. There were Hispanic style portraits all around and a Virgen Mary portrait. The inside of the restaurant there's tables and chairs while the outer area there's booths. As we sit down we get greeted with a lovely waitress and she gives out our menus. The prices over here are really affordable especially if you're not trying to waste a lot of money. I felt comfortable in the area as soon as I walked in, due to the old spanish music playing in the background. The food and service were amazing. Our waitress would always smile after asking us what we wanted to drink and eat. She also asked us how we were feeling that day. After we finished ordering she made sure our order was correct and given to us correctly at a reasonable time. When we got our food and drinks she would ask us once in a while if the food was good or if we needed refills from our drinks. I ordered a torta de asada which is a steak sandwich. You can add avocados, sour cream, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, jalapenos, cheese and a salsa or of your choice green, red or both. The meat was cooked pretty well and the all topping together tasted amazing. While both of my parents ordered a caldo de jugo which is a type of soup. As we finished the meal we went up to the front and paid a total of around $35. Not that bad when you're not trying to spend too much. Overall, the experience was amazing. From the amazing flavorful food to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I'll give this restaurant 5/5 stars. If you're ever in the Joliet area craving some Mexican food, and want something affordable I highly recommend Taqueria Los Comales.
