Great atmosphere. Really lovely patio area and downtown LaGrange is extremely quaint. Close to the movie theatre. We really enjoyed the pretzel bite appetizers and thought the French fries were solid. However, the cheese dip they bring out with the appetizer was stadium quality cheese sauce. Unfortunately, it tastes like they use the same cheese on the Mac n cheese and the baked potatoes. The most disappointing food was their famous corned beef sandwich. They don't grill the bread! The bread quickly falls apart with the soft wet rye. The corned beef itself was not flavorful. All in all, the place looks great but they're dropping the ball big time with the food quality. I'd recommend for a drink and some apps and a movie next door, but not at all for the meals.

Palmer place is a great place to gather with friends. Nice outdoor seating. Typical bar comfort food.

Food is not the same since the original owner sold the business. Menu is lesser, and my favorite item, the portobello mushroom sandwich, has been eliminated.

Palmer's is the definition of a local, no frills, comfort restaurant/pub. The food is satisfying but is certainly not going to win any awards. Same with the beer list--very standard. It's big and the service is ok.Basically, it's "fine." When someone says they love Palmer's it's almost always due to nostalgia--meaning they're basically telling you that they grew up in La Grange or have lived there a really long time. Most people that move to La Grange as adults would consider this to be a cheapish, casualish, local option, but not high on the list of places to go.But every town should have a place like this!

Had potato skins and the Vermont burger with fries. Everything was delicious. Fries weren't as crispy as I'd like but they were addictive and well seasoned. A respectable amount of bacon on the potato skins. Maple basted burger is an interesting change from a normal burger. Service was good enough until it was time to get the check and then it seemed like they didn't even want our money because there was a long wait to pay.

Solid sandwiches and draft list. In summer, the outdoor patio is good and, in winter, the fireplace room is cozy. Service is usually slow is only complaint.Parking: Street parking and free parking garage across the street.

Food was great. Service good too. Haven't been there in a while since moving , and still great. Staff welcoming. The French onion soup still rocks!

While the staff was nice and the place had a nice vibe their famous corned beef sandwich was a big disappointment. The soggy bread, hardish melted cheese, and luke warm meat leads me to believe that this was sitting on the counter for a good while. The half "potato skins" were pretty good but not what I thought potato skins are. If I return I won't be having the below average corned beef.

Went there on 2 occasions(both Fridays) and had to leave soon after we got there. First time we went there I understand bc we didnt know, we were told that kitchen closes at 10pm. We went there again today at 0907pm and was told again, that the kitchen is closed already. Inconsistent. Lesson learned.
