This restaurant is absolutely adorable. You feel like your are downtown Chicago, in some italian neighborhood. The ambiance is the best! Their food and pizza is absolutely delicious too. The pizza is the best around. The crust is thin and crispy and the toppings are fresh. The cheese is high quality and tastes fresh. The problem is the temperature of the restaurant. It's stifling hot. It's a small place, and always crowded. The stagnant air is unbearable. We actually had to leave early because I was feeling faint from the heat. I wish they'd turn on the air or something. The hot atmosphere, coupled with it being a smaller restaurant, and always crowded, is unbearable.

The restaurant and food are very good. $38.00 for spaghetti and meatballs and $39.00 for fettuccine alfredo and tacking on a service charge before tax and gratuity. Table of 4 with 2 orders spaghetti and 2 orders of fettuccini 1 appetizer and 4 soda’s= $125.00 before tip. i don’t mind spending some money on a good meal, and again the food was good, but i wont be back to pay that amount for noodles and marinara. Sorry, but way overpriced for what we ordered.

This was a staple restaurant in our "love to eat here" until yesterday Honestly don't have the words to describe the utter, sheer disappointment. Stuffed artichoke was literally drowning in flavorless soggy breadcrumbs, inedible. There was so much tasteless wet breading it was hard to even find an artichoke leaf. Did they soak plain bread crumbs in water? Tasted like it. Mussels cooked well but again a sauce completely devoid of flavor and not worth eating. As an added "perk" the mussels were so tiny, you can find bigger/fresh ones at Costco and do a better job with them at home. Cold, hard bread with equally cold, hard butter Chicken Parmesan was horrendous. Overcooked chicken in a sauce that rivaled ketchup. Literally ketchup. The chicken wasn't seasoned and the sauce was utter disappontment. We left 90% of the food uneaten, paid the bill and left. The chefs apparently do not taste their food or would never serve the meals as they'd be too embarrassed. This was literally so bad we will never be back. It's too bad that what once was very good is so completely awful now.

Our order was not correct. The delivery took over one hour, and the update kept getting longer. I called to say the order was wrong but the call taker insisted the order was in fact correct. I was told the manager was not in the building. This place is fine for pizza, but will not likely order from here again.

Outstanding Italian best i ever had. The bruschetta is great. All foods are fresh and individual prepared. Ambiance is comfortable. Lots of returned customers just like familia

This place is outstanding. There is a pizza place next door, and it is good, but the restaurant is great. Hadn't been there in about 20 years, and popped in a couple months ago and wondered WHY I hadn't been there in so long. Nice atmosphere, great prices and service, and fabulous food. Going to have to start being a regular. Definitely the best Italian around by FAR.

The manager who took "care" of us at Di Piero's made the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld look like an angel! WHERE DO I START! We went into Di Piero's on a Friday night at 8:40pm. I asked if we could order a pizza to go and have a drink while we waited. The manager, Jimmy rudely said the kitchen was closing in 20 minutes. (There were several tables with customers still eating) Jimmy begrudgingly served us drinks while we waited for our pizza. He carded my son who is 21 and of course he should card him. However he challenged him as he used his passport for identification. He was not going to serve him alcoholic as he said he could only accept a driver's license for identification. He did end up serving him. At that point I was thoroughly disgusted with the man and couldn't wait to leave. This restaurant could have three Michelin stars but I would never set foot in there ever again!

Very disappointing. Arrived a little after 6 sent us to the "porch". Would have been fine although a little chilly if we could have gotten some service. 10 minutes or more before someone came. Took a drink order and at least another 10 before we got a menu. Another 10-15 before we got to order. It's now 7:15 and we still do not have our food. We have empty drinks too. Enough said. Terrible service. Very cold. Food was ok. Best looking thing was the chicken parm. My husband ordered the saltimbocca and it came with nothing and was very very tough and overcooked. Need to add one more thing we came to use a gift card we received in April. They said it was old and they said they would give us $20 for it. Crazy experience and terrible service

Loved going to Dipiero's! We had not been back to the restaurant for 20yrs or so, and it was like stepping into a time capsule - still retaining the quaint intimate atmosphere. Three of us had classic and special pasta, as well as veal scallopini. The food and service was excellent!

It was my first time, they were not busy when I arrived. Bartender got us a drink Right away. 2 of us ordered pizza we were very happy. My other friend ordered the pasta with scallops, she loved it.Drinks are a little pricey but food reasonable. Being my first time there, I felt service should have been better. I didn't feel special.

Good downtown LZ Italian restaurant!!! Good Italian food and good pizza with a friendly & helpful staff that has been there since I was a young kid and we rode our bicycles to for a lunch when I was growing up in nearby Hawthorn Woods!!!!!! Good ambiance in a small town restaurant with great food!!!!!!
