I was not overly impressed by the meal I had at this strip mall restaurant. I had the chicken fried chicken entree. The breading on the chicken was very dark and almost burnt. It tasted somewhat like burnt grease. The mashed potatoes were bland as could be as were the vegetables that came with the meal. That said, my house salad was delicious as was the sausage gravy that came with my entree. We also had a wonderful server. The atmosphere in the dining area is nothing to write home about. Some sparse, mismatched wall decor on deep red walls and not much else going on. The large windows were rather dirty and look into the parking lot. I’ll probably go back and try another entree.

Great food - great service - Grandma Tocci's Spaghetti and Meatballs - bellissimo. Wonderful conversation about the cheeses in the appetizer and the wine. Always a great time at Zin.

Zin is a place that we don't visit often. The food is decent enough, but an extremely limited menu. The service was slow on a night where it wasn't very crowded, and I would say our meals were above average but definitely not something that I would recommend as a must go to. It's a decent place to meet friends for a cocktail maybe a couple of appetizers really more than anything else.

If you haven't dined at Zin yet, you're missing out! Not only is the food outstanding, and always changing for what's local and fresh, but the staff are gems! The owner will come over and talk to you about wine, life, and travel, our waitress was hilarious too! Felt like dinner and a show! Highly recommend for a night out!

staff is exceptionally friendly and the service was outstanding, place was hopping and so were they! Brought my out of town sister there for the first time and Zin did not disappoint! Would highly recommend.

This was our 2nd time visiting. The menu is very creative. We had starters, mains, and desserts. I had the chicken-fried chicken -- one of two comfort food entrees on the menu and it was fantastic! Served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. My wife had the Italian sausage-stuffed pork chops, and my friend had the walleye. The wine list is broad and the server & owner take time to help each diner select the perfect one. I went the microbrew route and really enjoyed my lager. The best part of the meal, though, was the service. Mary fussed over us, made us laugh repeatedly, and suggested a handful of items we really enjoyed and wouldn't have otherwise tried. This simple Mom & Pop restaurant is actually quite sophisticated while at the same time being supremely casual.

Ordered the $35 charcuterie board and had very little meat and cheese. Either put it on a smaller board or add something to it. Very poor presentation. Waited over 1 hour for our food, which was blah. Manager blamed a short staffed kitchen for the wait. It was a Saturday, but over an hour is ridiculous. There were a lot of people drinking so maybe they didn't care about the wait or the taste of the food. Fresh walleye was served with plain white rice. Tasted like cat food. We wished we would have gone to Culver's!

We were three school friends and it was my first time at Zin Gastropub. The food was wonderful. One of the girls and I had the Walleye and it was a generous portion and cooked to perfection. The other girl had the French Onion Soup and a Salad, she was happy with it. The service was perfect, from the owner to the waitress either could not do enough for us and checked on us periodically without being all over us. They were both fun to talk with. We did ask for a few things that were not on the menu and they all appeared for us. We all decided we would be back and I will tell my friends about this little gem of a Restaurant.

The food is well prepared and delicious. The regular menu as well as the daily special menu is a great variety. Something for everyone. The service is wonderful! Our favorite restaurant.

We come here a lot. Last night was a VERY long wait for food. Everyone was working hard but may be understaffed like many restaurants these days. Give yourself extra time if you dine in.

Food, service and ambiance are all excellent in this wonderful little GastroPub. They just seem to get it right...Every.Single.Time. I absolutely love that their beer and wine selections don't come from ho-hum producers that you can get anywhere. I love the farm to table nature of their delicious menu. I especially love the Zin salad with added seared tuna. And finally, the owner, the chef, the bartenders are fun and fabulous. I almost don't want to post this because I like our spot at the bar to be open. Cozy, heavenly and yummy!

Came with a group of friends for dinner on an early Saturday evening. There were things I loved and things I didn't love about our dining experience. Love that the food is locally sourced. We enjoyed the zin burger, it was a mighty one with a big onion ring in there and bacon. Truffles fries are a must! The lamb meatballs were also good, loved the dressing that came with the salad. The maple chicken bacon mac and cheese was abundant but had some very liquidy cheese that pooled at the bottom of the plate, didn't affect the taste. Had bits of fried chicken patty and bacon bits in it, but other than that it didn't look too different from the normal mac. Wished we could have taken it home to enjoy the rest but the waitress mixed up our leftovers with another person's in our party. No big deal but I wouldn't have been pleased if it were a stranger's leftovers. I could see how it could happen because there were 3 mac and cheese plates that needed to go boxes, but I think simply labeling it after they packed it would have prevented the mix up. She did try and double check after bringing it out but still gave us the wrong one. Luckily none of us had allergies but could be a risk for someone who got the wrong leftovers back. Service was friendly and waitress was attentive to our drink needs, but it took a good 40-45 minutes before we got our entrees. We saw other families who arrived after us get their food and nearly finishing it before we got our food. When it got busy, we needed to flag our waitress down for the check but we never felt rushed or pressured to leave after our meal, which was great. We had a good time at Zin, except for the few minor things (labeling leftovers, timely service) that could be improved.

We loved our meal at Zin's. The lamb meatballs small plate was delicious, and I especially loved the salad of tomatoes, some lettuce pieces and creamy feta cheese that surrounded the meatballs. The bacon-wrapped dates are to die for, and who knew that marinated olives served warm was such a delight. We will become regular customers here for sure!

Charcuterie was great, host was delightful. Unfortunately, they were sold out of some of the beers we wanted but otherwise we’ll return for another pleasant experience.
