Great service at greet and carryout stages plus delicious food for the night. Looking forward to dinning in next time because the ambiance was amazing inside and out! Collards and Mac were true standouts.
Back when Dixie Kitchen was in Hyde Park and closer to 170th & Torrence Avenue, my family introduced me to this Cajun/Soul Food restaurant. Now the 179th & Torrence location survives.The host/hostess explains the 'rules of engagement' which includes: 18% gratuity on all checks; no split checks; additional charge for debit cards (only chip cards are accepted). Tried Dixie Kitchen for the first time. Fiancé opted for carryout. I had the Seafood cakes with mac n cheese and greens. I really enjoyed the seafood cakes. Flavor was good although could have been a slightly thicker patty. The sides were less than spectacular. The mac n Cheese was ok. Puts me in mind of Stoufer's Mac n Cheese.
