We have used Lovin Oven for many many years and have spent thousands of dollars with this company. To say how disappointed I am is an understatement. We were starting to figure out a cake to make for my daughter's first birthday and all people involved knew we were ordering a cake. They quoted us on 2 different styles and we still needed to pick flavoring, but at noon of the same day of discussion, we were told to decide by 1 pm via email. After seeing and replying to the email at 130, they told us the decorator is gone and they can no longer make it because the decorator wanted to know what she was coming into the next day. Completely not accommodating and will never recommend to anyone else. This will be the last time our family uses Lovin Oven. This may not affect the business in the short run but treating valuable customers like this in the long run will.

Want extra unnecessary stress?Its Friday. I want to place a order to pick up on Tuesday. I called two weeks prior to ask ALL of my questions regarding my potential order. Im told this small order can be done in 48 hours. I come in today. Two girls are at the desk, did not speak upon entry. I attempt to place an order. One girl consistently repeats they cannot take any orders after 5:30p. Next they can give a quote, then can’t. Then I can email the order and have it by Tuesday, next I can’t. A whole lotta CAN’T but nothing they CAN do?! Thanks for creating this experience before my birthday, Hope I save someone the stress!!!

I was excited to pick up some treats, but that quickly went downhill. Rude customer service. I wasn’t greeted or asked what I needed help with. I was the only customer inside. Lady working seemed unhappy to be there, and had an attitude. Very unfriendly experience. Also some of the pastries I purchased did not match the price shown.

Theres a lady (I think Laura or Lauren) who answers the phone that is INCREDIBLY RUDE. She goes out of her way to have a very bad attitude. And its unfortunate because the food is great, and everyone else’s service is wonderful. But because she answers the phone it forces the customer to deal with her. Sadly there’s times I’ve not ordered due to her attitude. And because she handles the phones for Antioch and Round Lake, it has to effect the amount of business you end up getting. Reading through other reviews I see I’m not the only one who’s had this issue. I can only assume she still works there because she’s related to the owner. I would suggest not giving her a customer facing role, because she has made a VERY negative impact on your customer experience.

I've ordered from this place before. The customer service over the phone has gotten worse over the years.The lady's tone of voice was very sarcastic , unfriendly, rude, ill-mannered, and impolite demeanor. I had the same problem when placing an order over the phone before. Whoever she is, someone needs to tell this person to have better matters over the phone. Learn how to talk to customers. Or get extensive training on better customer service skills. There's no need to sound that way over the phone. Especially for long time customers. Plus, their prices have sky rocket. This used to be a good place with reasonable prices. They have gone straight down the hill with horrible customer service experience, and prices so high it makes you want to go elsewhere. It's not so sweeten day with bad customer service and high prices.

ONLY BAKERY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!This was the first time I bought treats from this place. I ordered cupcakes for the staff members working at my son’s school. They looked great and I received good feedback from the staff members. I purchased individually packaged fruit cakes. They were delicious and well made. They were loaded with fruits and nuts. They were priced just right for the size. However, the other treats at the store are expensive. I paid close to a $100 for 15 cupcakes.Pros:Variety of pastriesCons:VERY EXPENSIVE

I have used lovin oven cakery, for custom celebration cakes, for years. The taste and quality is amazing! However, there is an older (sounding) lady that frequently answers the phone (at the round lake location) that is so blunt and unfriendly! As someone in the customer service industry, I understand that dealing with the general public can be stressful.. but if said individual cannot be kind and patience, maybe have someone else answer the phones. Although, I can imagine she is not pleasant to work with, in any capacity. I’m hoping for the sake of the lovely young people that work there, that she is not the manager or owner, which in too many sad instances seems to be the case. Ok, rant over!
