I was driving through town to look for a place to stop for food and saw cantina taco thought it was like a Taco Bell so I stopped and went in, first the place wasn’t clean but wasn’t dirty just upsweeped and unwiped and usually that wouldn’t make me put a bad review for a place but I tried the cod tacos and immediately knew something was wrong they didn’t taste right me and my mother got VERY sick from them most likely food poisoning.UPDATE: I did get food poisoning!!!!! HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!

We love the food here and order often. Service is always great and so is the food. We always get the birria tacos but we also get the quesadillas and nachos from time to time. We love that we can create our own, and the ingredients are so fresh and refreshing. Highly recommend this spot! Support local always. Avocado salsa is also absolutely fire.

We had take out and decided on the beef birria tacos and chicken screw city tacos and let me just say lord Jesus. The food is absolutely amazing. Would recommend and cannot wait to try something new.

Staff is extremely incompetent, management is nonexistent. I have tried to give them my money twice now via online ordering, and their pos is down constantly. I had tried to call and let them know of the issue, and was told “ it has been down for a few days, and they need to let the manager know next time they see them.” Like what? Wouldn’t you think of making an effort to fix the issue promptly so you’re not missing online orders?I’d avoid this place at all costs, save yourself some time, and aggravations.

We really liked the nachos (you can pick two meats for the build your own) and the avocado salsa. I do recommend getting extra chips for the nachos because there are so many of the great toppings.Service was great. Seating was the only minor complaint because there are only two low tables for 4. I'm sure this is in part because it looks like they do a brisk take out business.

Where to begin!My fiancé and I just moved to Rockford a couple of months ago and we have been hearing about cantina taco all over! Today was the day that we decided to try it out.Walking in, it's a fun little chill spot. The music choice was great and loud enough to enjoy but not too loud where you can't have conversation.Then we got met by Hunter. I have worked in the food industry for many years and I have also worked in retail for many years and he checked both boxes! He was friendly, curious and passionate about the company. I was already excited to try this place, but he tipped my excitement over the edge. He was helpful with some tips and suggestions and made our first time looking at the menu far less stressful than I have experienced haha.Lastly, we got out food... it looked amazing, tasted delicious and made me already stoked about the next time we would come back! I got the nachos; highly recommend!This place is definitely on one of Rockford's best and I will tell everyone about it. Check it out, and if Hunter is working the front counter, you'll be treated like family!!
