Not the greatest. No alternatives for people who don't like Oriental cuisine. The tea was very bitter, and it was supposed to be regular iced tea. The restaurant was very warm/humid and the table felt very sticky. Just bad

I will admit that I am a food snob when it comes to Japanese food. I wish they had more authentic food rather than americanized Japanese food.

Amazing staff with great attitudes & attentiveness was on point. It was my birthday & even though we were the only party the staff were genuinely excited about our little celebration. They mentioned new additions to the menu so I happily tried one: beef hot pot. 5 stars on the broth for starters bc I could drink that juice for breakfast if it were possible! All the ingredients were on point except the potatoes could've been cut just a little thinner so they could be fully cooked through. 4.9 stars though, only mentioning the potato fix bc staff were clear about wanting honest feedback to better fuel any needed improvement. I'm happy to oblige as I see a lot of potential here (a rare compliment these days).Commendable and impressed are just a couple of words that come to mind when recalling my lovely first night at Chop Kitchen. I'll admit I had pretty much already resolved to a basic birthday family meal before the night even began but, to my surprise, we returned home with bright spirits & even brighter smiles (n2m full stomachs). Will be dining again soon, again: thanks for a lovely birthday.Kid-friendliness: Japanese sodas!

You have a large lunch menu to pick from. I love the bento lunch special. All the food was fresh and very tasty. The restaurant was very clean & we were greeted by staff, seated quickly. The food is made to order. We definitely will be going back. The prices are very reasonable also.

Went in for late V day dinner last night, ordered black pepper chicken, double crunch spicy rolls, and hibachi shrimp. Everything was HOT, DELIGHTFUL, and the taste was sooo amazing. Service was quick and great as well! Price was about $25/person so I’d say VERY reasonable for the amazing food. Good serving sizes too! 5/5 new favorite Chinese spot, will most certainly return again!! Thank you so much!
This could have been a lovely meal. We had an appetizer of fried lamb dumpling. My husband had steak and shrimp hibachi, and I had a Christmas roll. Our food was spot on delicious, served in a timely manner, and with a smile. However, the lady who took our order was Facetiming her children on speaker phone. She and a man from the back continued to talk loud enough for everyone to hear through our entire dinner. It was very distracting and unprofessional in our opinion. I wish that had not been the case, because the food was good. Hopefully next time will be better.

I eat at Chop Kitchen once a week for dinner with my family. This is a family run business and I have gotten to know the mother and her four incredible sons that help run it. They treat us with such curtesy and respect and all of their food is homemade! Homemade spring rolls, homemade soups, homemade wontons, you name it! The owner let me come back to the (spotless) kitchen and see how she makes it all by hand! It was credible to see her bring her Chinese traditions here to us in Marion. This place is fantastic and I cannot recommend it enough.Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly place! They bring my sons out special homemade Chinese family desserts every time we come!

We ordered the other day via their website. On pickup, they had forgotten on complete entree and didn't check until I got home. I returned after a lengthy drive. I requested to have the entire order remade since everything was now not fresh. She apologized and remade some of my food. The food was rushed. The chicken came out so rubbery it was inedible. The sushi never got remade and was disgusting. We will not return. Wasted nearly 50 dollars on terrible food that we tossed. I didn't even attempt to call or return.

It's not the absolute best Asian food you can get, but it's easily the best Asian food you can get in the area. The Chop Kitchen flaunts itself as a "Chinese" restaurant but carries Viet, Japanese, and Thai dishes on the menu, making it a bit PanAsian style.I'm pretty simple and cheap, so I stick to the lunchtime sushi roll specials and lunch plates, which come with a selection of sauces and meats.I highly recommend the shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna/salmon rolls, and yellowtail roll. They are honestly pretty decent and solid for the asking price. I'd also recommend the general tso and black pepper beef because they will generally taste like what you expect to be eating.I like a place that is disorganized and chaotic with hit or miss service because it adds a bit of fun to the experience. The average diner may not like that in a restaurant, so I can see how some reviews are a bit low. Overall, it's good.

Ordered take-out right at peak lunch hour and it had multiple problems. I loved the price, but will not come back. The "salmon roe" nigiri came as "flying fish roe" nigiri. Both orange fish eggs, but not at all the same thing (salmon roe are significantly larger and more expensive). They were out of pork belly bun sandwich, but didn't let us know at the time of ordering or waiting, we had to find out after we opened all the food. Bento had really poor proportions. There were four one-bite sized teriyaki chicken as the main protein. Overall I had a sad experience. It was not worth the money.
