Steak ‘n Shake makes a good burger…. Always fresh, hot and consistent. The fries are always a little too skinny for me, but these were at least very crispy. Our server at this particular steak ‘n Shake (“Gracee”) was phenomenal.

I used to have mixed feelings about this place until the day I got into a car crash in the parking lot…. The manager came running out and made sure everyone was okay. Now that’s not just a good person, that’s top notch service right there. Will be back for sure.

I would like to thank Gracee and the awesome cook being the counter for making our Steak and Shake experience phenomenal! From the moment we walked in the door, Gracee greeted us and make sure we knew how to order from the kiosk. Our food was nice and hot thanks to the wonderful cook that made our food. We appreciate you both so much! Hands down the best experience we’ve had at a Steak and Shake in years!
Do not like the new set up. Have to make your own order on kiosks. Use the ticket to get drinks go to the counter to pick it up. And they still ask for a tip. Tip for what? I personally have done everything for you. Tips are given for service and based on service. This is a stupid concept, and still ask for tips.

I used to love steak and shake growing up but one trip to this one, changed everything, burgers were awful, thick patties that were barley cooked enough, fires were cold, and I don't work there & don't want to have to try to figure out how to put in a order myself, I don't know if all steak and shakes have gotten away from the old way of making their hamburgers but this one sure has & their burgers aren't very good at all, but Mattoon has a world famous burger restaurant that has & will out last this place for sure.
