Checked this place out for the first time and it was decent. Loved the atmosphere with hand painted murals on the cool looking chairs. Service was exceptional and the food was good. Tried the steak tacos with cilantro and onion which I enjoyed. Chips and a side of guacamole is one of the best versions in my opinion. My girlfriend did not like the corn tortillas but loved the pork and steak flavored tacos. Her daughter tried the taco salad and absolutely loved it. Overall it was good and would recommend it.

We got here at 647 ordered our food right away and still have not received it.. mind you a table of 6 who ordered after us received their food … it shouldn’t take 45 min for a kids meal and a chicken taco dinner to come out. Will not be returning.

Amazing authentic food, wonderful servers, good prices, portions were huge-ours was meant for 2 people but after 3 tacos each we took the rest home and will have another great dinner. 10/10 would recommend.

I do not know if this place was bought out. I believe the old name was el gordo. Which I tried when I first moved to McHenry and was disappointed. El Vado Satisfied my hunger really good and fresh food! I wish we could have raised the volume on the music. I forgot to take a picture of my food I ordered a torta de milanesa and it was so delicious! I have to point out the host and the guy that was helping him seat the people as they were coming in they both were very fast at cleaning up and getting them seated right away! Great service! Good job! I would definitely return!

Maybe it was an off night, I don't know, but I just can't justify recommending this place. First, the dining room was FREEZING, but the heat in the bathroom was blasting. The margarita tasted like a cheap lime mixer, the waters for the table tasted like what I affectionally refer to as 'toilet water'- IYKYK. The salsa for the chip appetizer brought to the table was SPICY, like taking deep breathes to cool my mouth spicy, and while I normally don't mind food with a kick, for a general appetizer I was trying to split with a kid, that was a no go. My steak burrito was... weird -cold and filled with a lot of sauce and lettuce, and some grisly pieces of steak. Overall, completely unimpressed with an almost $50 dinner. In hindsight, I should have just gone to Taco Bell and satisfied my urge for some quick 'Mexican' food with a taco or two. Live and learn.

Delicious quesabirria tacos, fresh frijoles (!), All of the salsas/sauces were so yummy ?! Highly recommended Mexican food. Excellent, welcoming, friendly service.Parking: A couple street spots in front of the building but more in the back with an entrance to the restaurant from the back as well.

Great authentic atmosphere, attentive and polite servers throughout the establishment. Friendly.Ordered a Steak Burrito dinner with a Taco with everything on it. Came out better than I expected with huge proportional.Only come here when you're hungry or you won't finish.Definitely will be returning here more often for great food.

Failed on all accounts. Service was poor. loud atmosphere even with just a few people dinning in.Food was luke warm when served and wait time was longer than any restaurant I've ever been to. Waited over 20 minutes to get a soda. horrible experience, much better options in McHenry.
