I called and asked if they could wait for me to arrive no later than 12:05. They said they couldn't stay open until 12:05 because they were locking the door at 12 PM and donating the leftovers. I got to the pet store next door at 12:02 but couldn't get inside the bake shop. Personally, I'd rather sell my goods than donate them. Don't be late.

Who doesn't love bakeries? Not only do they have the tastiest baked goods, but their staff is always outgoing and friendly. Donuts, coffee cake, bread, what have you, I've never been disappointed. My favorite: apricot coffee cake and their apple bread. My dog's favorite: old fashioned donut (he sits outside and howls while I'm inside. Just don't want him to know there are other choices than plain donuts). This is one of the reasons that makes McHenry a great place to live!

Just had a wedding shower in McHenry. The groom requested his favorite childhood desert- sprinkle. cookies from Riverside Bake shop. He was very happy to see them on the desert table. Wonderful cookies. The staff was very helpful, pre-ordering the cookies was very easy. This was a fantastic experience. I contacted Riverside Bakery because I was working in Crystal Lake and I needed a cake for my nephews birthday party. It was the last of my choices because of distance. I'm so glad I called because it was one of the best cakes I ever had! The cake was light and moist, and the frosting was fluffy and not too sweet. They were so accommodating they removed decorations from an existing cake and wrote what I needed at no charge. No trace of the previous decorations could be detected. I am so happy I found Riverside but so sad I live too far away to go regularly

I have been trying to find the best donut in the area and so many people have said good things about this place so i decided to give it a try but I was a bit disappointed. I came on Wednesday where they had a special for $1.60 eclairs so I got an eclair, as well as the custard filled Bismarck and glazed donut. The eclair was so good! Completely filled with a creamy delicious custard. Definitely come and try their eclairs!! The donuts, however are where I was disappointed. They are dense and chewy and just not pleasant to eat. Since the Bismarck was filled with custard (a good amount too) it wasn't as bad but don't get the regular glazed donut if you like a fluffy donut like me. I think this place is overhyped, at least for donuts. May be back for the eclairs though

Riverside has the best chocolate eclairs, full of custard and absolutely delicious. The raspberry bismarcks are packed with raspberry filling, no skimping on the filling and great to cut in half. The chocolate custard filled are also delicious. I wish I lived closer!!!
