Cool, little gourmet store/deli? bakery? I'm not sure. From the get go, this place felt somewhat scattered and in search of an identity. At least to me. When they opened in October of 2022, they offered THE BEST pastrami sandwich in the Quad Cities, hands down! Thinly sliced pastrami stacked high on artisan Rye bread with pickles and mustard. Amazing! It was literally better than some "world famous" pastrami places in LA! But soon thereafter, they began curing their own pastrami and suddenly pictures of the pastrami sandwiches they posted to social media looked like a short stack! It was such a disappointment. In my mind, they instantly went from a destination location to a "maybe if I happen to be in the neighborhood" kind of place. Fast forward to today (March 2024), they're only open Thursday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and it's hard to say when or if they ever have a pastrami sandwich on the menu. The menu changes weekly and I haven't spotted it yet. I am willing to pay for extra meat if the sandwich is up to par. Hopefully, they find their audience. Apparently, it isn't me.

Bread seems good. Lunch overpriced and overrated. Chairs wobbly. Avoid Detroit bbq chips taste like chili powder.

The sweet pastries are delicious but do not sleep on the savory items! Every single savory pastry I have ever had is a 20/10! There is nothing better than their salty, cheesy pastry items!!! Fun selection of drinks, snacks and chocolate! I love the prepared foods, soups and cheeses!

Might seem a little pricey for some, but the quality of product is second to none. Everything is of the highest quality here. Had to laugh at the person comparing this to Panera..not even in the same ballpark..lol. I will continue to patronize this local establishment as often as possible! Keep up the good work!

I have been frequenting Blue Spruce since they opened downtown on 2nd St and they have been amazing every single time. I've had multiple sandwiches, specials, breads, and pastries over the last year or so, and not one has been disliked. It's also enjoyable browsing their well-curated selection of other specialty food products, and their tin fish selection is awesome. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Some bakery and deli items have limited quantities each day, so come early!More recently they have reduced their store hours to focus on other things, but the quality and friendliness of the place still stands and it's well worth making time to visit on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. They will always have something tasty!

Response to Blu Spruce: Why didn’t you sell me the large chunk of meat the first time I went into your store. You wouldn’t have to use the meat slicer to do that. The girl at the counter said she would have given me the sliced meat if the slicer was working. It was LUNCHTIME. I went at about the same time for both trips to your ”deli”.First time I went in, their slicer was broken and the had the lunch meat I wanted but would not sell me a chunk unsliced for me to slice at home. Went in today and they won’t sell meat by the pound at lunch even though there were very few people. Every deli I’ve been to sells meat by the pound whenever they’re open.

First time here for lunch. Two sandwiches, 2 chips a soda and selt,er water was $36.00! Pretty expensive for what I could get at Panera! Got a loaf of sourdough and it was good but Panera is good also. Lady explained the product but not overly friendly and the cashier just treated us like so-so customers. No good energy here. If I'm gonna be treated like just another McDonald's customer I'll just pay less and go to Panera.

I received very poor service from the Manager. I have been going to this restaurant for a while and ordering the Chicken Cesar Salad and I was charged $11. Today the manager charged $11 +$3. When I asked he told me I should have been charged that all along. So I did not buy the salad and I will not return to a restaurant that changes prices. The manager was very unhelpful and stumbled over his words. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Alright, y'all buckle up cause you ain't ready for the flavor tsunami that is the Blue Spruce General Store. This ain't just any old shop, no sir. This is the Versace of sandwich shops, the Bugatti of baguettes, the Gucci of the gluten game. Let's talk about that pastrami sandwich first, because lord have mercy, it's like they captured a barbecue cook-off and crammed it between two slices of bread. This ain't your mama's pastrami, folks. It's thick, it's juicy, and set to perfection. But don't think it's just about the pastrami. Their soup? Man, it's like slurping up a warm hug from grandma. Cozy, comforting and I swear it's got healing properties. Caught a cold? Forget the doctor, get yourself a bowl of Blue Spruce's soup. And those croissants... I've seen people weep at their beauty. Golden, flaky pastries that just melt in your mouth and make you question why you ever settled for less. You bite into one of these bad boys, and suddenly you feel you're on a first-class trip to Paris, no lie homies! Blue Spruce ain't just any mom ‘n pop shop, it's a culinary haven, a gastronomic utopia, the joint where taste-bud dreams come true. Don’t sleep on it fam!
