Super authentic food that’s fantastic and fresh. Some of the better egg rolls around. It really reminds me of my childhood when we would go to a Chinese restaurant. Service is always great. Servings are very large so easily shareable. You will not be disappointed.

PCR is one of the few remaining Chinese places that still offer a lunch special between, well, lunch hours. Minus the fact that the meal is NOT included with a can of soda but still a pretty good deal. You can get an array of choices (9 total I believe) for their lunch specials. I always stick with the #8 sweet & sour chicken. Ask for the sweet & sour sauce on the side, otherwise they will dunk it all over your chicken which can make it soggy in no time. You also have your choice between white rice or fried rice as well as an egg roll or soup. Their fried rice is good but very greasy! I despise this parking lot, however. It's a tiny strip mall off of Waukegan rd and there is hardly ever any parking. Each time I've had to park in the handicap or behind someone -so "to-go" option is definitely the best option! Overall strong choice in MG-just slightly better than your average!

Really good quality food, but also expensive. No thrills. Old school chinese restaurant. Worth trying.

When Judy owned it the food was always good. Have not eaten there since it was sold. Had take out tonight and was so excited to have it only to be disappointed. The egg foo young was packed in the saltiest gravy and when I tried to carefully take it out of the container it completely fell apart absorbing even more of that horrible salty gravy. Judy always packed the gravy separately from the patty. I also ordered chicken chow mein and after trying the egg foo young lost my appetite. I will try it tomorrow and hopefully it will be better than the first dish I tried. Also, so stingy on the sweet sauce. I had an order of two egg rolls and they only included a tiny sauce that was enough for one. Over all disappointing.

This is a great tasting spot. Worth the special trip to head out. The specials are very unique original. All food is fresh portions are generous. Low key vibe but great space to take out or dress up and dine in.

Nice atmosphere for dining. While I was there, several "regular" customers came in and ordered their usual entrees. The service was very nice, perfectly timed to have a great lunch or evening out. This Cantonese style cooking is the kind I absolutely love -- it's the San Francisco Chinese food which is my absolute fav! Palace offered wonderful homemade eggrolls, the dark fried rice (known for in the Bay area) and their food has really nice flavor. Very tasty. The only reason I didn't give the food 5 stars is that their beef (just like other Chinese restaurants) is not a top cut, but it never is. I ordered Chop Suey with chicken, shrimp and beef and the portions are huge. I ordered the dinner and for another $3, you get soup, eggroll, fried rice and white (yes, both!) and the large entree. If you don't want the fried rice, they will give you egg foo yung, instead. Unbelievable portions at a nice, upscale place. A lovely serene restaurant with very good food. I hadn't found a good Chinese restaurant since I moved here in April 2023, so I didn't think there was one in Chicago. But Palace is a good one to try. I highly recommend it, and the menu is extensive. The parking is a little tricky so just be prepared.Vegetarian options: I'm not a vegetarian but their menu is extensive. They have so many dishes, it's positively unbelievable. So the vegetarian section of the menu is very vast and offers a lot of options.

Come for the food and as a bonus you experience time travel back to a 1980's style Cantonese eatery.

Shrimp have a strange texture. Egg foo yong is like mushy/RAW inside. Didn't used to be. Beef chow mein Cantonese was all noodles. All in one container, noodles. Should be separate.(used to be.) sweet-and-sour pork all breading. Tiny bits of pork that were dry. Unbelievably bad. THIS PLACE IS SLIPPING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. staff not very friendly, they just don't seem to care.Parking: Parking is very difficult, the lot is usually full. You have to park on the street.
