The best of the best in the area - Capanari's Ice Cream. They are very comparable to Oberweis Ice Cream. Capannari is open seasonally from March until Halloween usually. They have rotating seasonal/weekly flavors along with your classic Ice Cream flavors - I really like the Madagascar Vanilla Milkshakes. The workers are also very friendly, there's a patio and garden outside you can enjoy your ice cream in or a small couple of chairs inside. Definitely try them if you're in the area and want some great ice cream!

I was lucky enough to get some free samples at work. Capannari has previously catered events in our office. They make some tasty local products. We received some Java ice cream and cookie dough. Tasty tasty! They also have vegan and non dairy options. I really wanted to take pics but it got devoured super fast all I have is this lonely business card which we call shortly for more! Oh and they're getting lots of orders for their shamrock shake flavor for St. Pat. Seeing the Ice Cream man brings up nostalgia and hope that summer will come early!

First time here and the ice cream was fabulous. I had the double chocolate peanut butter. Not only was the staff friendly and helpful but the owner and his daughter went above and beyond. I left my phone on the table there and didn't realize it until I got home. The shop was already closed and wouldn't reopen until 3:00pm the following day. It was imperative that I had my phone. After leaving several voice mails at various numbers I gave up. Early the next morning the owner called and said he retrieved my phone and brought it to their warehouse where I could pick it up at my convenience. I was beyond grateful. My point is, not only will you have great ice cream here, but know that the owner, his daughter and the staff are caring people. A+++

a mount prospect gem for sure! ice cream is generally all the same to me but this place is really special. the flavors are rich, creamy and delicious. i tried their choco taco and i'm in love now. you get the choice of toppings such as oreos, sprinkles, and can't remember the rest. it's super messy and the picture that i took of it in the box looks nothing special but it is a flavor bomb of deliciousness. the store is very small but plenty of outside seating. it seems to be run by very respectful and polite kids! definitely made for a special visit

If you are looking for a great dessert in Mount Prospect, look no further than Capanari Ice Cream. My husband and I came here with a Meet-up group to discover a sweet treat. When we got there there was a long line coming out the door and down the stairs. The line moved moderately quickly. We got an ice cream scoop flight to try several flavors. The scoop size for the flight was advertised as baby scoops, but we got full scoops. Needless to say, we were very full by the time we finished. The ice cream was yummy and we liked all four flavors. When you leave the restaurant, you will find a nice little park to eat your ice cream in. I highly recommend Capanari Ice Cream.

Yummy rich thick ice cream. Old house. Long lines. Beautiful patio outside and there was live music there that day. I enjoyed the space and the experience was great. Absolutely worth a visit for any ice cream purist.

Hot summer evenings call for a cool off and nothing better than hand scooped ice cream. Never heard of this place but was nearby and let me tell you, it hit the spot! Busy yet very efficiently served with a smile. All encapsulated in a historic location and a nice courtyard once out the door.Capannari's is the perfect summer stop!

It's ok. Ice cream is too "gummy"/sticky for me. Flavors are ok but nothing that is so amazing. I prefer the Rainbow Ice Cream located inside Buona Beef in Mt Prospect.Some staff are friendly, some are adequate. No indoor seating. Outdoor seating is in a park so that's a plus. However, if it rains, you are SOL. I will come by if people I am with really want to go. Otherwise, I prefer Rainbow Ice Cream.
Local ice cream place located in quiet Mt Prospect. Cute place to enjoy ice cream in there garden courtyard. Service and quality of ice cream is amazing. They have some very great flavors. I recommend the cherry chip and coconut chip, both are so flavorful and can pack a punch.

I was in the ice cream shop on Sunday evening. I asked for two Shamrock Shakes. I noticed when I placed the order that the young workers weee not sure on how to make one. An adult explained it and then she was gone. The line was long after me and I noticed that they were confused on who was ordering the shamrock shakes. I was passed up once, meaning my shamrock shakes were given to a customer behind me. I asked the young worker not to forget about me. He did acknowledge me and once again gave away my shamrock shakes to another customer behind me. When they were finally ready to give me my order, they only handed me one shake and realized they needed to make another one. By now I am frustrated and had Ben waiting for a good while, customers are coming and going and I was still standing there with my daughter. They offered me a free scoop of ice cream but I declined. I will not be going back. Terrible.
