Vegetarian options: Veggie pizza option. Or just get cheese and add vegs.

First time trying the new location and will probably be the last. Completely got rid of their old menu and just made it an American pizza place (Taco Pizza?) Spent $40 on a “X-Large” veggie pizza which is only 16”. Not a solid move, back to Mugs we go.

Unfortunately, the new location is extremely small. There are 4 tables that seat four people and 2 tables that seat two people. Due to the small atmosphere, every time the door opened, there was a huge, cold gust of wind which resulted in napkins, garbage on the table, etc flying all over the place. We were not greeted when we walked in and the service provided was not adequate. To top this, when our order was placed for the chicken Parmesan we requested spaghetti instead of mostaccioli. The lady who took our order never once said we couldn’t exchange pastas. When the food was delivered I was surprised to see mostaccioli on the plate and asked her if we can no longer get spaghetti. She said, “No, chicken Parmesan comes with mostaccioli” and walked away. So I’m assuming you can no longer make substitutions at all based on that response. We used to love this place, but probably will not return after this experience.

With basically an endless array of choices for pizza in the Chicagoland area it becomes a tough call to go out of your way and try a new place. Having the pleasure of dining at one of their original locations many times in Chicago thought to check out this one. Order takeout of their classic thick crust. The verdict is a resounding yes to complete excellence. In fact the ratio between cost and quality makes it in my opinion one of the best pizzas to get in Chicagoland. The only personal gripe is the automated ordering system. In short I’m the type who prefers to communicate with a person and pay in cash upon arrival. Hopefully next time I’ll have enough patience to find out if that’s possible on my next order.

I’ll summarize the 3 major problems first, if you want more details, continue reading. 1: Norma (gray haired, 70’s) is a horrible waitress because she gives wrong answers when asked about different food items and she says insulting things to the customers. 2: The portabella mushroom wrap was bad. 3: There is a mysterious 3% service charge added to the final bill.Details: While looking at the menu, we asked Norma if the portabella mushroom wrap was made hot or cold. Norma said “All our wraps are made hot.” When we got the wrap it was cold, so we asked Norma why is was cold and she sarcastically said “Well, you ordered a salad wrap, so of course it comes cold.” Then Norma asked me if my girlfriend was my mother, that was very insulting to both me and my girlfriend. Next, while eating the cold portabella mushroom wrap, we couldn’t find any mushrooms in it and it leaked a nasty gray fluid. Finally, when we got the bill, we noticed an extra 3% service charge. Norma butted into our conversation and said you have to pay that extra charge whether you pay cash or credit. I think the extra 3% service charge is there because restaurant owners are too cheap to print new menus with higher prices. So, if you absolutely have to go to Salerno’s, avoid nasty Norma like the plague, get a different waitress. Don’t order the portabella mushroom wrap. Be prepared to pay an additional 3% service charge. Better yet, don’t go to Salerno’s at all.

I had my staff holiday party here during lunchtime with 13 people. I like the small home feel. Angel was amazing in making sure all was taken care of as we pre ordered our selections to maximize out luncheon time. The food, service, and attention were amazing.

For me, it is the best Italian restaurant I have ever visited. It reminds me of my mother and grandmother's homemade food. I recommend it 100%, the guy who helped me named Octavio, very friendly and cordial, is an example to follow. For me this is worth more than a luxurious restaurant.

It has been several years since we last visited Salerno's and it seems to have changed. It might have been the time of day, or the fact it was a Sunday but only two people were working. They didn't supply the bread ? they used to provide a variety along with spices to put in the Olive oil to dip the bread in. Now only one type of bread and no spices. The main dishes still have generous proportions which means we always take some home. As usual it's delicious as well. It's a great place to support though there isn't much "Italian atmosphere" to speak of.

I was so impressed with this particular Salerno"s I mean this is a hidden jewel it has its own uniqueness I mean I love the Ovidiance and it was bright and lots of windows and the pizza was really good and they have this bread that very thin I cannot pronounce the name but it was so delicious the restrooms was clean the staff was very nice I have visited other salerno"s pizza in Chicago but this one just gives a certain type of uniqueness to it and the establishment is nice and neat and it's not too crowded although I here that it could get that way but for me and my client we really enjoyed our meal and we were very comfortable we will be back great ? food Salernos the chef is awesome ? ? kudos to chef I saw someone preparing the dough there kitchen area is actually neat as well they are handling this place the staff the chef the administration yall doing some things right in this restaurant ??????❤?
